While a super quick trip, had an amazing time speaking at @uafairbanks @ArcticBiology seminar series about 🦁behavior and comparative research 🤩 Huge bonus: a mini-reunion with friends (also previous labmates), and made new connections😍

Super chuffed with our new OA paper led by the amazing @offal_watcher, co-authored by @BillSeverud & JBump. We investigate how 🐺cues 💦 affect 🦌behavior across with-wolf and without-wolf habitats, and what that means for human hunters🔫 🧵onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…

A highlight of some really cool work I’ve been involved in lately! Working with Leech Lake, Red Lake, and White Earth communities and agencies to develop tribal CWD management plans. Really thankful for the trust and warm welcome I’ve received along the way. – at St Paul, MN
Tribal Nations in MN and @umnCVM researchers have formed a groundbreaking collaboration to stop the continued spread of CWD in and near Tribal lands. Together, they’re developing one of the first tribal CWD management plans in the U.S. z.umn.edu/9112 #UMNResearch

Here's another great conversation with Dr. Ellen Candler and Jason Crighton on the Conservation Unfiltered podcast. Give it a listen!

Happy #wildlifeWednesday with animals who dine with their interspecific "friends!" We wish we knew the topic of dinner conversations here😁

Our cameras capture a lot of guts and gore, which we love to see 😁 but also some incredible beauty from across the state, enjoy!

Interested in scavenger ecology and/or participatory science? come see my presentation @ESA_org #ESA2023 on Tuesday at 4:45 in room D140! esa2023.eventscribe.net/fsPo…

#BaldEagles are beautiful, iconic birds and our national emblem but they're not too regal to pass up scavenging when the opportunity arises! While known for their fishing skills, they're also adept scavengers and are frequently caught on our offal cams

Up for a #wildlifeidentification challenge? We have an amazing crew of 6,300+ citizen scientists who help us ID our project images. Each photo gets viewed by multiple people to reach an ID consensus but some still end up as "unknowns." Give these your best guess!

We are hiring an Extension Coordinator! Are you interested in working with citizen (community) scientists and hunters? Are you interested in remote camera research? Consider applying @CitSciAssoc @MNDeerHunters @UMNExt @the_zooniverse @UMNFWCB hr.myu.umn.edu/psc/hrprd/EMP…
Our preprint for “Eat or Be Eaten: Implications of potential exploitative competition between wolves and humans across predator- savvy and -naive deer populations” is up! Thanks to @StotraChakraba2, @BillSeverud, and Dr. Joseph Bump. Read here: biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
I’ll be presenting this work at the @IntlWolfCenter international wolf symposium
What’s the difference in deer reaction to wolf cues at hunter bait piles in areas with and without wolves? Do scent cues really make a difference in vigilance or is something else more impactful?
Remembering what motivated me so long ago! I wrote this with my best friend, a rancher’s daughter, as a 6th grade writing assignment. #humanwildlifeconflict #wolves #humandimensions @PathwaysCon @hwctf @HWCoex @IntlWolfCenter
