We are rolling out 2fa-confirmation or email-re-login to many sensitive actions, such as reading environment variables, in the Vercel dashboard.
Consider enrolling a passkey today to make that a quick fingerprint sensor thing.

I've been cooking on this post for a bit, but with the cyber security events of this week I had to ship it:
Long-live static credentials must die. We never want to rotate API keys again.
Turns out only 8% of cloud and SaaS vendors support secure alternative. This is our call to action to change this AND our commitment to do our part:
- We are requiring vendors on our marketplace to support OIDC
- We shipped @shadcn components to make it easier to ship OIDC configuration
- We are expanding OIDC support on our own platform
The last generation got the web from HTTP to HTTPS. It is on us to move past API keys.

It's time to retire long-lived static credentials.
We surveyed 1,000+ SaaS vendors and found only 8.4% support secure auth. This is our call to action and how we're doing our part.

The industry needs to widely adopt OIDC Federation. Vercel supports this. We shipped it two years ago. vercel.com/changelog/openid-…
The greatest benefit: No persisted credentials. It’s key to the death of static credentials.

.@MercedesAMGF1 is the leading F1 team and the best business in the sport. Toto Wolff is the only owner-principal. I was excited to sit him down and understand his business background, how they run engineering under the constantly-changing rules, his views on the industry, and how he's preparing for succession.

I built gpu-pii, inspired by @shuding's gpu-lexer.
A small model, trained from scratch, runs on WebGPU in your browser to detect personal information in any text
pii.ephraimduncan.com
After one week, there are 5 more small models for specific tasks on the web:
1. gpu-time: natural language to JS date and time by @imarikchakma
2. gpu-query: natural language to structured filters by @cheatyyyy
3. neural-flexbox: model to centre a div (!) by @aaronvanston
4. gpu-cron: natural language to cron expressions by @ManuSchiller
5. tinysarf: arabic morphological analyzers by @Ahmedabdou1996
I trained a small model to do syntax highlighting in the browser with GPU.
Meet gpu-lexer from Vercel Labs: Small (27.5KB), fast (runs on WebGPU), and language-agnostic (model guesses the syntax).

It is experimental and built for learning!
