I was late my whole life and so is my response today too lmao.
Just wanted to thank you back. I overcame so many hardships thx to you, managed to keep going, always felt comfort through your voice and fall asleep too when I couldn't. You gave us a place where I never felt this-
This is my love letter to the Vtuber community. I genuinely appreciate to have met so many of you all, I feel like my life changed in such an explosive way thanks to my community, the VTuber community, and the earnest generosity, faith, and love my friends have given me all these years. They’ve been nothing but patient and supportive and I always strive to do the exact same while feeling like it’s never enough because they mean the world to me. And it sucks since I’m still working on trying to vocalize that more and more for them to know how much it means they’re in my life. It’s thanks to VTubers that I was able to become a more passionate person, and learn more about who I am. Seeing so many awesome people in this medium inspired and driven is infectious. I truly believe the wonderful people of the VTuber community as a whole has helped me become a better version of myself and it’s a fact I’m eternally grateful for.
I want to say it’s annoying when there are many that still don’t understand what we do as a whole, because there is so much good that has been birthed by the incredible creatives in this space. There are many stories and missions that I’ve had the honor to see or be a part of due to the generosity of those kind souls here. I do feel like that the overall community has changed quite a bit and the landscape of streaming as well over the past 4-5 years. However, I believe the community perseveres through these changes and I know that I am also a product of this change too for the better of my mental, but I hope every VTuber reading knows how inspirational they are and have been to millions of people like myself and continue to do it despite how different the world we live in is now.
Thank you all for being some of the most positively infectious and creative minds I’ve had the pleasure to speak to, to learn from, and to be inspired by. Many of you have helped fueled such a fervent passion for my own craft throughout the years through your art, your content, and your words.
I genuinely love the community and love being here with you wonderful people, even if there are inevitable disagreements, I know we can unite under a common love for the medium. My friends and this community ultimately never fail to make me smile, and I’m glad I’ve gotten to just smile so much more since becoming Shoto. I would not be Shoto without you all, without VTubing. Thank you guys. 💜

This is my love letter to the Vtuber community. I genuinely appreciate to have met so many of you all, I feel like my life changed in such an explosive way thanks to my community, the VTuber community, and the earnest generosity, faith, and love my friends have given me all these years. Seeing this letter from Shoto, the first VTuber I ever knew, the first VTuber I ever watched, the one who introduced me to this whole VTubing world, and the one who’s kept me company through the hardest time of my university life and all the way up to today… I have so many mixed feelings right now.
Over the past few years, there’s been so much drama in this community, and I know some people have left because of it. But I’ve always believed that the people who genuinely love VTubers will stay and be willing to work together to make this community a better place.
Some people who don’t understand it might judge me, but I don’t care. I love VTubing because I’m a hardcore chunibyo?? MAYBE?? But one thing I know for sure is that ever since I became a VTuber, I’ve been getting braver and braver about trying things I’ve wanted to do for so long but never had the courage to. Even though some of those fears are still there inside of me, VTubing has at least given me the courage to take that first step.
And I think a big part of that courage also comes from the people in this community. There are so many talented people here, and their creativity never stops surprising and inspiring me.
Another thing I’ve always been so grateful for is that this is one of the communities where people truly value and respect the work of human artists. Especially since generative AI became widespread, seeing people here continue to support and commission human artists means so much to those of us who love creating art with our own hands and believe in how important art is to humanity.
I can’t predict what will happen in the future, and I don’t really wanna think about it either. I just wanna keep making the silly stuff I enjoy, while hopefully making other people laugh or cry (Crying is also a good way to release emotions).
I believe that no matter what happens, good or bad, as long as we have each other and that love is still there, we’ll get through anything together, and happiness will always be with us, all the way to the very end.
