The rehearsal process has been deeply moving, and it's going to be a hugely powerful concert. Music becomes a place where humanity can be reminded of its capacity to mourn, to endure and to hope. 🎶
Opus 48@opus48choir9 Nov 2025
For our reflections today. 🕊️ The Armed Man was written in 2000 as a reflection of the passing of ‘the most war-torn and destructive century in human history’ and as a message of hope that the world of the future would have more peace and fewer wars.

Górecki’s Miserere is an extraordinary one-movement choral prayer for mercy - its slow-moving textures build inexorably to moments of overwhelming intensity, creating a sound world at once monumental and intimate. Join us in Oxford this Saturday to experience it firsthand.

Replying to @vOxChamberChoir
Well, I have been to some amazing places in the UK and round the world to hear beautiful voices in idyllic settings, but nothing better than vOx at Waterperry on Saturday pm: quite extraordinarily wonderful in every way, and unforgettable.

Slight tinge of sadness as we said goodbye to three fabulous members: Tenor (and chair) David - good luck with the house move, soprano Leah who is moving to Durham and soprano El, leaving to have a bambino! Thank you for your amazing contributions - we will miss you all! xxx
