What a week it has been for Chelsea, and what a month October has turned out to be! As expected, October is giving us a clearer picture of what this season could look like. We've lost to Tottenham at home and suffered Carabao Cup elimination against Liverpool on penalties. Two disappointing results, but there were some positives to take. Next up is Manchester United at Stamford Bridge. Let's look at the Ups and Downs. The Ups: 📈 1. Mike Penders Penders deserves credit. After his difficult outing against Spurs, he responded with important saves against Liverpool, including denying Araújo and Barcola. He also saved Gravenberch's penalty. That's a good response after a costly mistake versus Tottenham. 2. Morgan Rogers delivers: Rogers scored against Liverpool and remained a threat throughout. With Palmer and João Pedro unavailable, he stepped up. We need more of this consistency from him. 3. Roméo Lavia's return His return to the starting midfield was encouraging. His composure and ability to operate in tight spaces give Chelsea another dimension. Staying fit will be crucial. 4. Chelsea showed character Despite the elimination, we competed well at Anfield. Chelsea registered 11 shots against Liverpool's 10, with both sides managing four on target. Considering our attacking absentees, there were positives to take. The Downs:l📉 1. Fofana's costly mistakes His handball gifted Liverpool an equaliser, while his missed penalty proved decisive in the shootout. These are mistakes Chelsea must avoid. 2. Lack of attacking incision We created opportunities but lacked the creativity and sharpness to win the game in normal time. Against well-organised opponents, we must be more clinical. 3. Growing injury list Lacroix's hamstring injury is another setback. With Reece James, Emi MArtinez and João Pedro already sidelined, Chelsea cannot afford to keep losing important players. 4. Estevao is not playing The young Brazilian will be having a lot of thoughts in his head. If we don't him playing time, he will be advised & persuade to look for another club. #cfc #CHEMUN
