How long is the stench of the “sham” going to corrode the meaning, worth, and very essence of the Premier League?
Listening to commentary about Manchester City’s players matching the defiance of their ownership and triumphing in adversity.
Listening to fans chorusing the names of the men running the club, wearing masks or displaying banners of their faces and jibing: “We’re Man City, we’ll cheat when we want.”
Victory being framed as “a lovely moment,” a show of togetherness as though some grave injustice has been imposed on City, rather than their hierarchy being found by an independent commission to have orchestrated financial doping on an industrial scale.
Their opponents and the rest of us wondering if any of this actually matters now and how much of it ever did?
There can be no business as usual pretence. We need a full stop to the absurdity.

If, as City still claim, there's "a comprehensive body of irrefutable evidence" that proves their innocence it might have been a good idea for them to show it to the commission. The 40-page judgement lays bare the scale of their cheating - artificially inflating revenue by £900m
A very well written story on the shambles of the weekend the players should never have been put in this position uefa are to blame

FT: #LFC 0 Fulham 0: Dreadful performance from Iraola's side who certainly didn't deserve any more than a point. So flat, so careless, so disjointed. A backwards step after the positivity generated by wins over Ipswich and Atletico. Fulham the better side for long periods.
Take all my money now

‼️ Liverpool Are Too Big For This SH*T
£85m for Cody Gakpo is a serious offer. If Andoni Iraola genuinely believes Bradley Barcola plus a different profile on the right, whether that is Sarr, Minteh, Fernandez-Pardo (yet another left-sided player) or somebody else, gives Liverpool the attack he wants, then the manager deserves our backing.
The problem is Richard Hughes has done almost nothing this summer to earn the benefit of the doubt.
Liverpool have 3 days to replace Gakpo when it's taken most of the window to address an attack already lacking depth. Szoboszlai finished our first home game at right-back (it may actually be his position, gulp). Ekitike is unavailable. Isak cannot be expected to carry the centre-forward position alone. There are holes everywhere, square pegs filling them, and around ten senior players heading towards the final year of their contracts.
That's incompetence. That's neglect.
I went early on Hughes after the Diomande debacle and took plenty of criticism for it. I wish I had been wrong. Instead, every week seems to bring another example of a sporting director operating without a convincing plan, reacting late, shopping beneath the required level, and leaving the manager to make sense of a squad assembled without proper balance.
If Hughes were not seemingly edging towards Saudi Arabia, the calls for his dismissal would already be deafening.
FSG deserve their share of this too. They appointed him, empowered him, and have allowed Liverpool to drift through a summer where the manager appears to be accepting whatever is available from a late trolley dash.
None of this is the players’ fault. I also struggle to believe this is the happy transition some keep portraying. How could it be with this much uncertainty?
I want to enjoy Liverpool. I want Iraola to succeed. I want to be proved spectacularly wrong.
Yet Champions League qualification currently feels like the ceiling, two games into a new era.
Liverpool are too big for Richard Hughes, too big for second and third choices, and increasingly too big for an ownership model whose sell by date has passed.
I hope this time next year serious people are running the football operation.
Surly these can change after champions league draws there is champions league week after both these games and if any playing Tuesday night they have to change again ????
Credit where it’s due to FSG
They bought LFC for around $300m, recouped their initial investment by selling just 2–3% to Dynasty, and have now reportedly generated around $1.5bn from selling 30% while still retaining close to 70% of the club all while keeping us self sustainable
Nice to see German football back in the @mooncat2878 discord first day back and I called this beauty

Only in Ireland do you get such emotion and joy. These are amateur sports men playing for the love of their county I’m not from Mayo and I was almost crying. This was like a movie ending
The more I watch of Irish sport, the more intoxicated I become by it.
They exist in this bubble of genuine fanaticism that doesn’t extend beyond their shores with vast swathes of their country FULLY bought in.
Had no idea it was going on and look at the scenes. Unreal.
75 YEARS AND THE WAIT IS OVER!!!!!
MAYO ARE FINALLY ALL-IRELAND FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS!!!!!!
