I don't endorse but appreciate moving away from Google-choked Android
Vinix, a new OS/kernel built from scratch, can now run Android apps! vinix-os.org The goal: full Android runtime, minus the ads. As Android grows more bloated and closed, Vinix aims to offer a truly open alternative. Here's Google Maps running on Vinix:

Vibe questioning: When experts cluelessly ask what about this and that, you drill down on the question: How are they similar to us?
Babe wakeup, more YC leaked emails. From: Paul Graham To: Slava Akhmechet Subject: Handling technical due diligence with VCs Date: Monday, Sept 7, 2009 at 6:20pm If the "experts" are talking out of their asses, you ought to be able to turn the tables on them by asking questions like "What about them seems similar to us?" ----- We also are reminded it used to be "getdropbox dot com" ----- And we read more from unusually quiet YC cofounder Trevor Blackwell. Trevor was a disastrous partner for YC, a classic "scenester" in Garry Chan's terminology, who was so desperate to be included in robotics scene that he was driving around surrogate robots he built in 2009 all by himself like a total scenester loser. And you can't sleep also. MRU -> DXB -> SFO or stuffs like this put you in a mindset where you just live in the present in Zombie mode.

The elites use Fabel
Samuel used up his entire Fabel budget in a night, now he wants your validation that it was a good idea.

Trying to submit linkversity.lol extention to the chatGPT store. Very long ride so far. One thing: MCP seems to be a cornerstone tech currently.

Been paying the bills for LLM-generated codes. Came to the conclusion that human review is needed.
Over a year ago, I stopped reading code and started automating adversarial agents to perform recursive code reviews instead. The result: low-defect systems that do what I want. Can't believe anyone engaging seriously with these tools still believes human code review is superior

Mind boggling
Strong argument from Samuel on why Graphs are a bad idea, and why Pydantic Monty and @temporalio are a better option.

Slop ^ 2 -> Slop reviewer ^ 2 to the rescue -> Slofware
Agent contributions to Omarchy are not only very welcome, but I usually prefer them! Rare is the human who has the patience to match an agent in providing all the pertinent details in a bug report. Also, PRs are mostly just proofs of concept now anyway.

Acquire + fire is a common pattern!
Today we’re laying off a large part of the Airtable team. This is not a reflection of their work but a reflection of our deep belief that small teams ship more and better. For Airtable, better is about to look like: - A new Core team shipping your top requests monthly (already 30+ shipped in 3 weeks) - Upgraded Omni, Airtable Canvas, a stronger MCP, and BYO agents, coming soon - New Performance and Infra teams focusing on speeding up bases and increasing limits on records, fields, and syncs To everyone leaving: thank you. If you’re hiring, these are excellent people and worth a call.
