Los Angeles Lakers owner Mark Walter and Thrive Capital founder Josh Kushner have agreed on all outstanding terms of the sale of the Lakers at a $12.5 billion valuation, sources close to the negotiations told ESPN.
The two men met in person Thursday at Walter’s home in Florida to finalize the transaction and are expected to sign the formal agreement soon, those sources said.
Once the agreement is signed, it will be reviewed by the NBA. That process generally takes some time as the league reviews financing and ownership structure. Sources close to the negotiations said that Kushner has assured Walter he’s raised all the money necessary to complete the sale.

There’s a note in here that I can confirm. According to multiple sources with knowledge, not authorized to speak publicly, there aren’t issues “finding money” for the $12.5 billion sale.
SCOOP: Josh Kushner & Bob Iger have been offering Lakers minority stakes to investors starting at $250M each as they build out their ownership group.
That's the entry point. Some investors will put significantly higher amounts into the deal.

The funny thing about people criticizing Kessler’s PRA averages is the first 2 games he got treated like a normal center and was averaging 20, teams immediately adjusted their coverage to take away the lob from him and it ended up with Luka and Austin averaging like 77 ppg on 70 TS% over the next 2 games 😂
Also allows the defensive havoc the other guys are playing with it too.
They are more likely to play passing lanes and funnel perimeter players towards the paint. Another thing that is not accounted for is the amount of times a player will pass up a shot because Walker is there
Yaxel Lendeborg on if he’s excited for his rematch vs. Luka:
“Absolutely. Yes, I am. I’ll talk about that on Friday.” 👀

Dwight Powell, Dalton Knecht, Kevin Porter Jr., Koby Brea and Dallas-bound Walter Clayton Jr. have all cleared waivers, @TheSteinLine has learned.
Walter Clayton Jr. is scheduled to clear waivers today at 5 PM ET.
Teams interested in Clayton — barring an unexpected claim on his $4.2 million salary for 2026-27 — project 2025’s No. 18 overall pick to join Dallas on a two-way pact after clearing.

THE LAKERS "IF" REPORT 🏆 | 2026–27
14 IFs. One question: what has to go right for the Lakers to hang with the NBA’s elite and contend?
Luka’s team now. A rebuilt roster. Plenty of guys with something to prove.
I ranked the biggest swing factors and impact—not just the best players. Let’s debate. 🧵👇
So now what?
Moussa Cissé’s spot on the Mavericks’ roster could be in serious jeopardy, as he could potentially be waived, per @TheSteinLine
The Lakers, 76ers, Bulls, and Hawks have reportedly expressed significant interest in him.
“There's a growing expectation among rival teams that Moussa Cissé is the Dallas player in the greatest jeopardy. The Stein Line has learned, however, that Cissé is a real candidate to be claimed off waived in the event he is let go. Chicago, sources say, has interest in the high-energy big man. I'm told Atlanta also has interest even though the Hawks don't currently have an open standard spot…If Cissé were to be waived Monday and then clear waivers Wednesday, I'm also told that the 76ers and Lakers would have strong interest in signing him to a two-way deal even though neither team currently has a two-way opening.”
