Just to highlight for those watching brave Russians arrested for protest, the Tory police bill gives UK state similar powers: every protestor is liable to be arrested, no matter how peaceful - or even just for facilitating protesting
Freedom is fragile.

During his inaugural address in 2019, Zelensky told lawmakers: “I do not want my picture in your offices: the President is not an icon, an idol or a portrait. Hang your kids' photos instead, and look at them each time you are making a decision.”

Remarkable speech. Addressed to the Russian people, it should also be heard everywhere.

This will be the mother of all pyrrhic victories for Putin. He has now created the very Ukraine he wanted to crush: a nation that will never be reconciled to its Russian captivity and which now has a heroic history of lonely defence which will sustain its deep loathing.

The idiotic fish war is a classic throwback to 19th century style national peevishness of exactly the kind membership of the EU obviated; expect more.
This series of 5 short videos (more to come) shows the confluence of artistic and scientific brilliance in my nephew’s creation of a 1:1 bronze statue in his back garden. Literally reaching for the stars. Amazing what’s in that man’s head. Go watch: m.youtube.com/channel/UCMV8_…

This is the kind of piece that deserves to be amongst what’s in museums. Idk, this is insane and beautiful and truly gets one thinking. Beautiful work

So in today’s London to Glasgow race, plane beats train - by TWO MINUTES. A 1-hour flights vs 4h30 train journey, in reality only 2 minutes difference. With plane emitting 7 times more CO2 and much more stressful, I think we know which is the real winner…
They've arrived! @Paultuohy on the plane and Norman Baker on the train got to George Square just TWO MINS apart.
Paul *just* beat Norman, but his journey emitted around 7x more carbon emissions.
With Norman's journey more pleasant too, the case for #trainNOTplane is clear.
