In the USA, @parrishb and @cwarshaw find stronger state climate policies reduce #CarbonEmissions without harming the economy, but these reductions are insufficient to meet the goals in the #ParisClimateAccord nature.com/articles/s41467-0…
Excited that @cwarshaw and my new paper is out @NatureComms. We develop a holistic measure of state climate policy regimes and show that state climate policy is helping to reduce CO2 emissions, but current state efforts aren’t enough to meet the Paris Agreement goals.
We use the the dbmm package in R (@devincaughey and Tomoya Sasaki) to create our index. Always a pleasure working with Chris, and grateful to the fantastic energy policy scholars on whose work we build!
