People that plan to upgrade laptops every two years are buying the cheapest machines they can get away with every two years. No adequate laptop purchased new needs replacing in two years. I reliably use a 2020 Dell as my daily work driver with no issues.

One way to guarantee the screen is bad is if you enter the the bios(press f2 repeatedly after powering on) and the screen still has the same display problem = then it’s the screen itself and not a graphics card issue. Vertical lines is another sign that it’s the screen.
