Take a look at @marblesculptor's Tragic/Brave neon installation at Asia House, New Cavendish St in London! The exhibition is open today, tomorrow and Friday 10am-6pm #bodypartsAHRC
This neon light installation reveals the socially contingent nature of disability, especially regarding the social dimensions that underlie people's reactions and assumptions about disabled people. #bodypartsAHRC
Come and see ‘Meet the Superhumans! Putting them on a pedestal’ sculpture by James Lake at #bodypartsAHRC at Asia House between 10am and 6pm today, tomorrow and Friday!
For more information about James’s work take a look at jameslakesculpture.co.uk/
The ‘superhuman’ figure depicts dominant, normalised constructions of para-sport focused on heroic actions. The text in the plinth speaks to other narratives of disability which are often marginalised including disabilities seen to be caused by ‘bad life choices’. #bodypartsAHRC
