After four great years, it’s with very mixed emotions that I leave my role with @MerrionPress. I’ve been so fortunate to work with a truly amazing list of authors and unbelievably talented colleagues/friends. I can’t thank Conor enough for letting me ride shotgun through it all!
At the same time, I’m excited to be starting with @Gill_Books in the New Year and I’m really looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead. But right now … there are plenty of mince pies to be eaten and a few glasses to be drank 🍻 Merry Christmas!

Anne: Ah Pa, sure that’s not what they wanted at all!
Me: Santa’ll bring them what they want … they’re all getting a shitload of books from me, again
I’ll tell you one thing, Cookie and I are going to get to the bottom of this who-knocked-the-Christmas-tree mystery if it’s the last thing we do!

Delighted that The Rodfather has been selected by @SecondCaptains as the joint winner of the Irish Sports Book of the Year with the excellent The Game by @TadhgCoakley. Tadhg and Roddy Collins will be in Dalymount Park this afternoon to take penalties on each other to decide it.
Blown away by the kind words from Eoin, Murph, Malachy Clerkin and Sinéad O’Carroll about The Game on the Second Captains Sports Book Of The Year Show last night. Humbled that the book was chosen as the joint book of the year with The Rodfather. @SecondCaptains @MerrionPress

I'm delighted with the cover of The Game, due from @MerrionPress in May. Thanks to Fiachra McCarthy for the brilliant design. Thanks to my brother Dermot for the brilliant photo, taken in Banna Strand, c. 1974. #thegame #sportswriting #memoir

I’m having one final read of George’s memoir before we send it off to the printer. Apparently this still counts as “work”! 🙂
