Tried o3 for “please summarize this 30-page report to explain this product.” It hallucinated numbers and arguments with completely made up case studies for the product. 😬

If you’re using o3 for work I strongly recommend double-checking every number it gives you

> 85% user satisfaction became 67% more revenue (no citation) > it made up implementation timelines and a project plan for a product when there was no supporting information for it 👉 Great draft aid, terrible final authority. Always verify.

Studying anon accounts I admire No bio, no motives—classic projection halo I fill the gaps and think “wow, genius” Even more respect for real-name posters who hit the same bar—skin-in-the-game brilliance.

Much like in large software projects, institutions encode logic that might make sense at the time, but as times change, they become outdated. Still, they're hard to change because no one remembers why we added it in the first place or knows what would happen if we remove it.
From 1264 to 1827, anyone who received a Master of Arts degree from Oxford had to swear that they would never forgive Henry Symeonis. By 1608, no one knew who he was or what he had done.

sam thinks before he talks and he definitely thinks before he tweets. this is a huge flex for the quality of the offering and a play to bring on more subscribers- because while it's likely true, they're also halving their compute costs every 6 months youtu.be/SImm15uF_3Q?feature…
insane thing: we are currently losing money on openai pro subscriptions! people use it much more than we expected.

We spend a ton of time writing this newsletter every week. Definitely give it a shot if you want to hear our nerdy takes!
The Elion newsletter is one of the best resources I've seen to keep up with all things healthcare AI. In particular their interviews with buyers on their current initiatives and asks from vendors is something I haven't seen from any other healthcare newsletters

I’m flirting with danger by updating my computer software 25 minutes before a meeting

For those interested, made it with 2 minutes to spare. Danger zone.

The opportunities that arose from purely working with the internet as a basic primitive have been seized, i.e. Meta is rebuilding Twitter with their own spin, founders are re-building productivity software and combos of apps. New ideas need to look at primitives other than web...

Venture capital returns at a high in 2010-2020 decade because software and internet as primitive cheap to iterate in and lots of greenfield. New primitives will require more investment because they're fundamentally costlier, but more human value to come from them

as the core things that humans need to do, i.e. farming, mining, construction, materials, sensing, basic research, health become the most valuable primitives to integrate with and build on top of. Meaning Node/Django apps alone not enough anymore to build great businesses anymore

Nuclear construction on avg has overrun planned costs by 117% and time to completion by 64%. Much like the defense industry, our incentives aren't aligned to make safe, efficient progress. We need an analog to Anduril to build nuclear again. pirg.org/edfund/media-center…

Unfortunate for the founders who thought the equity they were giving up was commensurate with derisking. In reality, Fractal’s lack of focus concentrated risk and created negative signal for future backers. Interesting idea, talented team, but greatness requires focus and risk.

Every time I read serial founder for person I’ve never heard of, replacing it in my head w/ “person with rich parents”

I’ve been working on this product for the last 6 months, from ideation through launch. If you are interested in EHRs at all, I’d love to get your feedback on it.

Really excited for @ElionHQ's public launch of their EHR comparison tool! If you're a digital health builder who's selecting an EHR, sign up for their webinar where they'll be going through their product and discussing best practices for choosing an EHR: lu.ma/elion-ehr

Alright, we finally have a final draft of "The digital health startup's guide to selecting an EHR"! If you'd like to get an early sneak peek and provide any feedback, DM me for the link
I’m frequently asked what EHR a digital health startup should consider. Since this is a commodity decision — no one wins their market because of their EHR — I’m working with my friends @ElionHQ on a startup ehr evaluation + selection resource Lmk what you would want it to cover!

If you're curious about TEFCA and clinical data interoperability, we wrote a pretty deep blog post on some important changes coming down the pipe with QHINS! elion.health/resources/tefca…

Helicopters seem incredibly dangerous. Motor failure = default dead. Hope VTOL aircraft take over helicopter use cases in the next decade or two.

For context, had one land near me while walking my dog and felt very unsafe the whole time. Spinning rotors of death, yikes💀
