Most decisions to care for one another and ourselves are made during ordinary moments, not extraordinary ones. This in mind, I hadn’t heard a sermon on the “Ordinary Time” portion of the church year before, so I took it on yesterday. Here’s the clip: youtu.be/Z6OPmH2D3Tw

Kate Bowler’s dissertation book, Blessed (2013), inspired me to apply to Ph.D. programs in religious studies three years ago. It was such a *joy* to meet her today on the West Coast, to hear about her new book, Joyful Anyway. She even signed my copy of Blessed :) @KatecBowler

My #AARSBL25 paper 2 had a full room at 8:30am on the final morning of this year’s American Academy of Religion. Grateful for a lively and engaging Q&A, supportive colleagues and many guests and new friends.

Thank you to the Reverend Dr. Sarah Jobe for her field-making ethnography on prisons and prison chaplaincy and to Ryan Schellenberg and friends at @ChaplainLab for gathering such an incredibly talented panel, with Drs. Jerusha Neal, Shelly Rambo & Jason Evans #AARSBL25 #SBLAAR25
