Apparently I missed the memo that we have a planetary defense map now

My next Framer template will make it easy to create your own niche city directory I wanted to create this ticker-style animation to keep the UI consistent since business names can get pretty long Not 100% there yet but making progress!

This started happening to me so vividly when I was a teenager that it was like a radio was following me around.
I just learned that people can ACTUALLY HEAR SONGS IN THEIR HEAD. I burst into song randomly so that I can hear the song I am thinking of. You folks can actually HEAR music in your head? I thought that was just a figure of speech! What is worse… I am a musician and I had no idea this was real. #MindBlown

Maybe the reason New Year's resolutions are hard to stick to is because we make them in the dead of winter (in the northern hemisphere). Shorter days. It's cold. It's snowy. Everything around you is dormant. Makes more sense to wait for Spring when everything is coming alive!

A lot of visions of the future imagine that tech will continue to proliferate and we'll be living in machine cities, but I kind of think the opposite will happen. It will become more subtle and built in to the world around us.
Kitchen countertops have induction hobs that can be positioned just under the countertop, heating the pans through the surface

I have so many questions 😂 If this is an ad, why doesn't it have a disclosure label? Why do I still see this tweet even though I clicked "Not Interested" on it yesterday? Why does it seem like RITZ Crackers is the one advertising this to me? So strange!

Growing up, one of our big family traditions was mushroom hunting in the mountains around Santa Fe. We'd drive up to the ski basin and hike for hours in search of our treasured prize, Boletus edulis. One season after a long hike, a man offered us a ride down to our car...

We immediately warned him and he was horrified. We ended up giving him about half of the mushrooms we had collected so he could still have that meal (safely!) he was so excited about.

I had a dream recently that reminded me of this story and realized I'd never shared it here before. There's no moral other than only pick mushrooms you can positively identify 😂 I do hope that guy had a great meal though!

Over the weekend I built a free Framer template that can be used to spin up a lightweight user research program. I've set up several of these programs at startups in the past and had to build something from scratch each time. This gives you a solid starting point ✨

You can check it out here: patrickward.gumroad.com/l/in… (enter $0 to get it for free!) The template could also work well for annual surveys, events, swag requests, etc. I'm excited to start creating more resources like this that make running user research easier

Here is a great example of a survey invitation email from @loom. Why I like it: - It's short! - Explains the general topic without introducing bias - Upfront about time required - Link is easy to find - $20 for 2 minutes is a solid incentive - Date adds a sense of urgency

There is no such thing as a full-time customer. Talking to customers is a great way to see your product through the eyes of someone who can only spare .01% of their time thinking about it. Reminds you what is really important and is kind of humbling in an empowering way.

I had to get some x-rays done for the first time in many, many years and the bill was...surprisingly not bad? And this is before insurance. Out of pocket was only $26.
