The @WHO and United Nations Inter-Agency Task Force on Noncommunicable Diseases @un_ncd are accepting nominations for 2026 Awards.
This year 🏆recognize organizations making measurable strides in preventing and managing 🫁 chronic #respiratory diseases while tackling the harmful health impacts of #airpollution.
Strong emphasis on cross-sector collaboration and sustainable policy solutions that integrate health, #environment, urban planning, #transport, and energy sectors.
Awards will be presented in three categories:
✅ ministries of health and government health agencies;
✅ non-health government bodies including city authorities;
✅ NGOs, research institutions, and foundations.
Nominations must come from external individuals and should highlight innovative approaches, partnership leadership, resource mobilization, and efforts that address inequities and support marginalized communities.
Winners to be announced at the 80th World Health Assembly in May 2027 - submit your nomination form to [email protected] today.

Update on #hantavirus:
As of 12 May, 12h00 CEST, a total of 11 cases, including 3 deaths, have been reported. Nine of the 11 cases are confirmed, and the other 2 are probable. All are among passengers or crew on the ship.
We expect more cases given the dynamics of spread on a ship and the virus’ incubation period.
At the moment, there is no sign that we are seeing the start of a larger outbreak.
Passengers and crew are being followed up in their countries, where WHO recommends a 42-day quarantine at home or in a facility starting from day of departure from the ship.
