🇮🇱 Netanyahu’s bloc is stuck well short of 61... and the opposition’s path to power runs straight through an Arab party. Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert doesn’t see Netanyahu forming a government at all. He expects Gadi Eisenkot to get the nod instead, and to walk back a campaign commitment by bringing in Mansour Abbas and his Ra’am party, enough for a minority coalition the Knesset could still approve: “I think that it is likely that he will find a way to make an agreement with a party of Mansour Abbas and present his government to the approval of the Knesset.” Eisenkot gets up to 42 days to decide which matters more, his promise or the premiership.
🇮🇱 Netanyahu has NO PATH to a coalition... Israel’s future is now in the hands of the opposition, and possibly its Arab parties. I sat down with fmr. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, to get his insight on the political dynamics at play. His read on the numbers: Netanyahu’s bloc sits at 53 seats. He needs 61. The opposition bloc of 67 is united against recommending him. Eisenkot’s only viable path to government runs through the Arab parties, who just hit a historic 19 seats. On Israel today versus 20 years ago under his leadership: “We were healthier, more responsible, more humble.” But we also got into some other areas... I asked him the question everyone asks, everyone knows the answer to, and no Israeli answers 😂 Does Israel have nuclear weapons? “We’ll do everything possible to make sure that no one will have nuclear weapons in the Middle East that can threaten the foundations of our lives.” Draw your own conclusions 😂

So SA’s that the new Premier of PQ @PaulPlamondon missed math class in junior high-only 66%of the population of Quebec voted and his party only got 28% of the popular vote, in fact he only got 36%of the popular vote in his own riding- no wonder Trump notices PP
Six former Quebec premiers are joining Canada’s Prime Minister, Mark Carney, at the Canada–European Union Summit in Montreal: Jean Charest, Lucien Bouchard, Pierre-Marc Johnson, Philippe Couillard and Christine Fréchette. They accepted the invitation. They will be at the table. Canadian and European political leaders, current and former premiers, diplomats, mayors, Indigenous leaders, entrepreneurs, academics, scientists, artists, and union and association representatives are gathered, representing sectors including finance, trade, law, industry, energy, mining, transportation, aerospace, defence, telecommunications, artificial intelligence, education and culture.

AI needs to be owned by the people who use it. It needs to be a technology that empowers people. It can't be yet another tool of hegemonic control. As it becomes a core part of how businesses, governments, and people work operate, they need it to be deployed securely, effeciently, and effectively. Our Series E allows us to invest in building frontier models and continue working on efficient, open, and empowering AI. Proud of what the team has built and excited for what's ahead, and we are proud to have it be shaped by Canadians.

Here we go, with Alberta quiet Quebec can now take centre stage with its grievance campaign. Canadians, I suspect, have little patience or appetite for this BS

Oh God the faked outrage over this. Imagine making your living this way.

These are serious times—and we need serious people representing us in Washington, DC and in states across the country. Georgia, I hope you’re fired up and ready to vote for @KeishaBottoms for Governor and send Jon @Ossoff back to the U.S. Senate. Jon and Keisha will fight for you, and they’ve got real plans to build a better Georgia. Reach out to your family and friends and encourage them to vote. Let’s get it done!

Obama tonight on his Cheesecake Factory line: "They mobilized a whole of government response to that joke. Not to inflation, but to that joke. The White House even called the Secretary of the Treasury. This is the man who is in charge of the economy. The person who's supposed to be figuring out how to make your life more affordable. The guy who's supposed to be figuring out how to lower inflation. And reduce interest rates. They told him he should hold a press conference in front of the Cheesecake Factory."

The price of separatism is eternal indignation.

🛬 Touchdown in Montréal 🇨🇦 Rarely have I looked forward to a Summit this much. An ocean separates Europe and Canada. Yet we have never felt closer. We have a new ambition: bringing Canada closer to us than ever before, as Associate Member of the EU. And we want to take our unique partnership even further. With an Alliance for the Future, we will stand together and respond to a world of growing rivalries. Montréal, we’re about to write a new chapter in our shared history.
