Man, RIP Weil, that was such a banger
Weil, source of bankruptcy's most infamous email, has itself announced today it will be winding down operations.

Should I ask the Weil team opposite me right now what’s up?

Legal recruiters are so funny. I’ll say “I want a job with better work-life balance. I do not care about name brand or prestige, and I will even take non-market salary for the right fit,” and they’ll be like “how about Sullivan and Cromwell? They do really sophisticated work”

Law firm goes to the doctor, says its partners are leaving and it’s worried the firm will disintegrate. The doctor says “treatment is simple. The great restructuring firm Weil is available tonight. Go and see them for advice on your options” “But doctor…”
New color on what went down this weekend at Weil, a culmination of issues that have been plaguing the white-shoe law firm for years. Over 40 partners gone, M&A talks with Willkie over, and top brass is calling outside restructuring counsel for advice. You hate to see it.

Beast mode
I know an attorney who worked in big law and billed 700 hours in a year, which is far more impressive (and healthy).

Look, there’s no glory in billing 1800-2000 hours. Billing 700, though? That’s a champion

Does steam run php? Someone just hacked my steam account and played 16 hours of Balder's Gate 3 while I was working from home

Worked there for 4 years. One time they did a super fun April Fool’s Day joke where the managing partner emailed everyone to announce a new “Work-Life Balance Policy” ending all evening and weekend work, then followed up with “APRIL FOOLS” then followed up again with an apology

People have pointed out that this content in bg3 is more of a choice, but I wouldn’t discount that part of what put people off of veilguard is the use of identity terminology that felt foreign to the world. Like you can make your character trans or gay or anything in bg3, but nobody ever addresses this, so the player can interpret the “meaning” however they want. How would such a character be understood in the universe of the game? The player decides. Bg3 doesn’t take a position on whether any 21st century real world identity concepts are applicable
In Baldur's Gate 3 you can be trans and queer and that game sold over 20 mil copies. The chuds saying the reason Bioware didn't sell well with their recent games was because of "activism" are absolutele delusional troglodytes the need to go outside.

What strikes me about this is the reasoning for the requested discharge upgrade: “it will interfere with my life, what I want will be harder because of this, it conflicts with my plans.” None of these are reasons that a discharge upgrade would be warranted
