Politically loaded post. Blaming is easy. All Governments have steadfastly failed to deal with civic amenities, be it pot holes or drainage or public transportation or clean air. An exception was @ncbn as CM of united Andhra Pradesh.
ONCE UPON A TIME THERE WAS A GREAT COUNTRY CALLED INDIA.
( FIVE stupid phrases that we use that are helping destroy it).
By Sanjay Jha
My dear fellow Indians
Once upon a time, there was a great country called India. It had a glorious past, extraordinary people, limitless potential and a promising future. Frankly, it was never perfect. No country ever is. But there was hope. There was freedom. We could breathe.
Then something went horribly wrong. Of course, I am not blaming everything post-2014 alone. But the acceleration of the decline got a definitive momentum. No, it wasn’t just the politicians, albeit the bulk of the responsibility lies here. Or the bureaucrats who sold their souls. Like good ole Gyanu Ji. Or the multi-billionaires who appear to have mistaken the national assets for their family inheritance.
It was also us. Yes, you and me. All of us, in varying degrees.
We Indians have perfected five phrases that explain why a country capable of sending spacecraft to the Moon and Mars still struggles to fix a pothole on Earth. I live in Mumbai, ask me about it. We have the richest municipal corporation in the whole of Asia, by the way. Anyway, let’s cut to the chase.
Here are the five national disasters masquerading as everyday wisdom.

What this will achieve is denial of affordable therapy to a large segment of society. There are scientific publications that show that single use material can be reused safely. It is important that such patients are not charged for reused material.
'Single-Use Medical Devices Can’t Be Reused': DGHS Bans Practice, Says Hospitals May Face Checks
"Welcoming the move, Dr Sudhir Kumar, neurologist at Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, said that reuse of devices labelled as single-use has been reported in some healthcare settings, often driven by cost pressures. “However, from a patient safety and regulatory perspective, reuse of devices intended for single use is difficult to justify because such devices are not designed or validated for repeated use."
"The government’s directive prohibiting the reuse of devices and surgical items that are labelled by manufacturers as “single-use" is an important patient safety measure, said Dr Kumar. “Such devices are designed, tested, and approved for only one use. Reprocessing and reusing them can increase the risk of infection, device malfunction, reduced performance, and procedure-related complications, particularly in high-risk specialities such as cardiology, neurosurgery, oncology, and cardiovascular surgery," he added.
Experts pointed to the financial side of implementation. Dr Kumar from Apollo said, “At the same time, implementation will require healthcare systems to address the financial implications of increased use of single-use devices, especially in resource-constrained settings. Policymakers, hospitals, insurers, and manufacturers should work together to ensure that safer practices do not inadvertently reduce access to essential procedures. Patient safety and affordability must go hand in hand."
