When #WhyCMR is performed 3d after #MINOCA admission (SMINC-2) vs 12d (SMINC-1), #myocarditis and #Takotsubo diagnoses increase at expense of fewer normal findings, but #infarction stays the same.

1/25 Trusts were asked in NHS March Planning Guidance to start planning on how to recover care backlogs. Early work now starting to show the scale of the problem. One of my long tweet threads follows on the detail of what's emerging. See p13 of @thesundaytimes and @SkyNews too!

An important, very positive finding published in the @NEJM:
nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NE…
The data on the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine shows that 1 dose is 92.6% effective after 2 weeks. That is excellent and almost as good as 2 doses (94.8%).

26/42 Are there any national datasets that accurately capture what is going on? The brilliant @jburnmurdoch has highlighted number of admissions into ICU. The message from his animated chart (click on link) couldn’t be clearer – this winter is v unusual: xitter.cf/i/status/1347200811303….

1/42 Good to see yesterday’s @thetimes editorial attacking the pandemic of covid misinformation. Here’s my twitter contribution to fighting it, as suggested. Lockdown and covid sceptics continue to consistently misuse cherry picked data to argue NHS not unusually busy.

Over the last 6 months, we've learned a lot about how SARS-CoV-2 spreads🦠

A lot of discussion recently about transmission dynamics, most of which are extrapolated from viral loads & estimates. What does contact tracing/community testing data tell us about actual probability of #COVID19 transmission(infection rate), high risk environments/age?
