Scar in all its glory. The bullet passed through my esophagus which they had to repair too so little bit bigger than expected. The bullet is still in my spine and staying there, so I got two souvenirs out of it 😂 In more hopeful news, parts of my legs, feet and toes have started to get sensation back (a tiny bit but I’ll take it all). Hopeful that that trend will continue🌞

Escaped rehab to get ramen 🤫 I couldn’t show the scar before since it was a little more gnarly, but here’s a more healed view. 2.5 weeks until discharge home 🌞

Update: after insurance finally coming through, I’ve move hospitals to inpatient rehab (one of the best in the world). Mentally and cognitively doing great. As far as physically, I’m not sure if it was fully clear by the original posts but when I was shot I was instantly paralyzed (and lost sensation as well) below my chest down to my feet (which will come back slowly (hopefully) with time and effort). It will take a lot of work to regain function/feeling and hopefully walk again in the next few months, but I’m trying. Bonus partial scar view
