One representative example of asymmetric catalysis enabled by spirosilacycle-based ligands. Using the newly developed SPSiOP, we have realized enantioselective hydrosilylation of diverse allenes via nickel catalysis. Just out @angew_chem Check out: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/…

Unlike functional group conversion, C-H bonds too far or too close are both hard to activate, but it is also the beauty if we can. Piperidine as the top pharmacophore, needs reaction to edit, but C-3 is too close, one bond extension works: Nat. Catal: rdcu.be/fl2xC.

With a bulky 1,3-diketone ligand, a nickel-catalyzed remote substitution of unprotected alkenyl alcohols with arylboronic acids has been realized, enabling distal C–C bond formation directly from native alcohols. Just out @J_A_C_S | pubs.acs.org/doi/full/10.102…

Check out our latest publication @J_A_C_S . A nickel-catalyzed regioselective dihydrosilylation of allenes has been realized, accessing 1,3-bis(silane)s bearing two remote silyl groups in high regioselectivity. Congrats to Qing-Yan. pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/jac…

“My parents could barely read or write. It’s been quite a journey, science allows you to do it.” New laureate Omar Yaghi was in the middle of changing flights when we reached him, just after he heard that he had been awarded the 2025 #NobelPrize in Chemistry. In this interview we speak about his early life as a refugee in Jordan and the overwhelming draw of the beauty of chemistry: “I set out to build beautiful things and solve intellectual problems.” Listen now:
