Takeoff's estate reportedly claims his rape accuser deleted text messages as evidence in her civil case against the late rapper. Despite the rapper's death nearly four years ago, the case of the woman who claimed Takeoff sexually assaulted her at a party in 2020 continues to drag on. On Thursday (Oct. 29), MyNewsLa[dot]com reported that the former Migos rapper's family wants a judge to enforce “terminating sanctions” on the woman for admitting in an October deposition to getting rid of messages relevant to the defense after she filed her suit in 2020. “Such spoliation is set against the backdrop of her own friend testifying that plaintiff’s claims in this lawsuit are fabricated with the help of her other friends with whom she broadly engaged in text communications," the filing reads. The unnamed accuser claimed Takeoff raped her at a 2020 party in Encino, Calif., after she denied his advances. Prosecutors declined to file criminal charges and Jane Doe sued the rapper later that year. Takeoff was shot and killed at a Houston bowling alley on Nov. 1, 2022. However, the woman has continued to go after his estate. If granted, the sanctions may result in a default judgment against the accuser. A hearing for the motion is scheduled for Jan. 26, 2027.
