ALT Morgan began his scientific journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and has become increasingly interested in the human dimensions of conservation and wildlife management. For his master’s degrees, he performed research exploring the social dimensions of illicit vulture poisoning in the Northeast of Portugal, and further research examining how methods from environmental psychology can help protect sea turtles from being harvested and eaten in Maio, Cabo Verde. Currently he is focused on studying and promoting positive relations between fishery stakeholders in the Azores – mainly fishers, scientists and policy-makers – by combining social sciences, science outreach and participatory processes. He is particularly fond of using qualitative methods and interested in citizen science.
