Following the first-ever detection of #mpox in Tanzania, @AfricaCDC Director General @Dr_JeanKaseya confirmed 22 positive cases out of 55 suspected, reflecting a testing coverage of 82%. Speaking at our press briefing last week, he expressed concern over the outbreak but welcomed the fact that no fatalities had been reported.
