I have been meaning to write about this and Yash has done a better job than I could have
Along with the lack of 3s view threshold, X ads is insanely cheap esp for video. Some of my creatives got 1M views for $25 when targeted to low ppp countries. less than 50 installs overall
they also allow you to target followers of a handle. I'm sure there are dedicated handles with only bot following whose CPMs are even lower
but when you are a founder or an agency with views as the KPI put your time on X
I hate that launch videos have become larp-contests over who can buy the most QTs instead of who makes the best video.
desperate founders pay slop agencies $200k-$500k, who pocket half and spend the rest buying QTs.All this just to convince investors they've gone viral. It's a great business for the agencies who has no work, but absolutely waste of capital for founders who are sometimes investing like 10% of their total raise.
this scam is only possible on X as they don't have a minimum window of 3s to count the views. As long as it loads on your screen, wether or not you play it, views are counted. On top of that they aggregate all the views to the main post.
a great way to identify such posts is look at the views to engagement ratio, it will be way off. Like 5m views, 1k likes and 1k RTs, 32 replies. let's not even talk about conversions or adding MRR, as it doesn't exist.
if you think your company has PMF because you larped some QTs on X, you'd believe you're popular amongst women after visiting the red light area.
if you're a founder considering to launch. invest all your budget into video product, great writers and doing something newsworthy in your industry. don't be sheep.
I was once knee deep in the CA/CCA space in India and remember telling my bosses how we eventually will have to move to this for world domination
If you'd like to start an #emudhra competitor in India, a CCA license requires 50 crores for companies and 5 crores for Individuals/firms.
The rest of the guidelines are at cca.gov.in/sites/files/pdf/g…

Hi @congratstothe , can you confirm if promoting an IPO is allowed as per SEBI or it comes under illegal investment advise?

Today, we’re sharing a meaningful moment in Bumble’s story: we have entered into an agreement to be acquired by Ithaca Holdings.
This is a new chapter, but not a new mission. Bumble will continue to be driven by the same purpose that inspired us from the beginning.

how practical is it host Kimi on railway and run our own inference - is anyone doing this on production?
the amazon 6 pager memo is an excellent precursor before building any new feature

a lot of PM JDs at AI labs have some version of “make the product work for agents”, so i built it
looked at how fast an AI agent can get an API key.
a few changes fix most of it and for first few changes you don't need any PM

future recruiter: assignment is done 😉
End of october, Mexico celebrates Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) to honour the lives of those ancestors who have passed away, where families build altars with photographs, candles, bright orange marigolds.
In India in October (Today) sarva pitri amavasya is observed for a veryy similar reason! to honour the ancestors who passed away in your lineage.
So interesting how two countries and cultures so far away from each other, observe something so similar, a beautiful belief that our departed ancestors return for a visit. Also marigold is such a aesthetic similarity in both countries!
I think bhoot chaturdashi in bengal is also very similar and even more closer to dia de muertos and halloween in november!

people who are celebrating dhruv rathee’s detention need to realise how fucking rotten political discourse in this country has become.
they worship gods, preach patriotism, and then they worship gods, preach patriotism and then wish death and violence upon their own countrymen for daring to question the government.. he came to india despite the risks, leaving his wife and child behind in germany. when a critic has to worry about being detained or facing legal action for speaking against the government, what exactly are these people celebrating?
the government doesn’t need to silence every critic if it can turn millions of citizens against anyone who dares to speak. brand them anti-national, call them foreign-funded, question their citizenship and let the mob do the rest.
this is how democracy dies. not necessarily by abolishing elections, but by making dissent socially unacceptable and blind obedience a badge of patriotism.
the irony is that these clowns claim to love india, yet celebrate the very tactics that can one day be used against them. because today it’s dhruv rathee & other independent journalists who are being detained at their hotel. tomorrow it could be any journalist, student, activist or ordinary citizen who is closely related to you & who refuses to fall in line.
a government is temporary. a country belongs to its people and patriotism is not measured by how obediently you worship those in power 🙏🏻
A wise man once said - I may disagree with what you have to say but I shall defend to death your right to say it
🚨 BREAKING
Printing presses across Delhi are reportedly refusing to print posters and other materials for tomorrow’s protest, allegedly due to police pressure. When even printing protest posters becomes a problem, it shows just how far the authorities are willing to go to suppress dissent. Shameful!
