The Boeing E-4B “Nightwatch,” commonly known as the “Doomsday Plane,” serves as a survivable airborne command post from which senior leaders can direct US forces, including nuclear forces, during a national emergency. Flight-tracking data showed the aircraft departing Offutt Air Force Base near Omaha and crossing the Midwest.
