❄️ The 2026-27 Pennsylvania Winter Outlook is here! A strong El Niño, one of the strongest on record for this time of year, is taking charge this winter, and it shapes almost everything about the season ahead. I dug through every strong El Niño winter since 1957 to see what it could mean for your town’s snowfall, winter temperatures, and what it means for your heating bills, ski season, and much more!
Snow lovers, don’t give up just yet! The full outlook has town-by-town snowfall, maps, the window to watch for a big storm, and a Q&A 👉 paweatherplus.com/pennsylvan…

This week’s Supreme Court decision is another reminder of what we are up against heading into November.
They can put more obstacles in our way, but they cannot take away our power. Our answer is to show up, make our voices heard, and turn out in numbers that are too big to rig.

Proud of my friend and colleague @drrachelrubin whose work led to removal of a black box warning on vaginal estrogen today! Did you know.... we are doing a study together on sexual dysfunction as a follow-up to our prior study on sexual dysfunction in #POTS and #EDS?!
Breaking grounds is the only to advance science! 🧠♀️🚀

😡Another example of an insurance company causing ridiculous delays in care:
I just received a 22 page, 108 question preauth to fill out for a patient's adalimumab (Humira). This is NO exaggeration.
She has severe RA, has been on adalimumab (Humira) for MANY YEARS. We have proven over and over again in the past that she requires the drug. My notes are very clearly written showing how she is doing amazing on the drug and is tolerating it and how she failed previous drugs. My staff have been going back and forth with @CareFirst @ExpressScripts regarding getting her medicine. She and her husband have sent me many messages... fearful she will run out of her drug.
There is only ONE reason they are doing this. They are NOT there for the patient, and this proves it. They are there to make money for their shareholders. And this helps a lot!
Why do our Congress people bow down to the wealthy insurance lobbyists and refuse to pass practical legislation that prevents these roadblocks in front of patient care. Get rid of Step Therapy! Get rid of the prauth process. Let the doctors be the ones who "doctor" and not the bureaucrats sitting behind their desks at insurance offices. #healthcare #HealthInsurance

This week in October marks 77 yrs since the Donora Smog Event of 1948 (Oct. 26-31). This tragic incident directly caused 20 deaths and sickened over 5,000 residents, nearly half the town's population. The accompanying picture shows the downtown area at noon during the event.

I was in Georgetown yesterday, shopping. I could not believe all the military policing the streets. NO ONE feels unsafe in Georgetown on a Saturday afternoon.
The rest of the nation needs to know how this administration is wasting money.
While 40% of NIH research dollars are taken away, and 1 Billion dollars (yes with a "B") is taken away from the Washington DC budget (hence, less money for police officers). DC has a lower crime rate than many Republican-led cities (Memphis, Wichita, Spokane, Kansas City, Mobile, Tulsa).
As US veteran, I salute my fellow military. However, I was in the Guard during college, and I would have been pissed off if I were taken from my studies for something like this that is not truly putting the military to good use. These wonderful men and women are being taken away from essential jobs, their families, their studies... just for @realDonaldTrump to put up a show and get back at Washington DC.
Waste of money and ill-thought-out. What is the long-term plan?
