I gave God lemons and he made me lemonade. For most of my life, I ignored God, sure I prayed, I had a small connection, but I followed all my worldly desires. And when God tried to warn me and guide me, I didn’t listen. I wanted to do things that made me feel good. I was chasing instant gratification. I missed so many opportunities God had lined up for me. I never realized my full potential because I was following pleasure instead of following Jesus. This isn’t a story about regret. God knew I was going to ignore his warnings and miss out on the opportunities he had waiting for me. Why? Becasue he knew I would see it all later. He knew I would see everything he did for me even when I turned my back on him. I honestly don’t know why he kept blessing me, kept me safe, kept me moving forward even when I didn’t deserve it. There were so many times he could have easily taken it all away and given it to people more deserving than me. But he didn’t. Even though I didn’t deserve any of it, he still gave it to me. I handed him a mess, and he straightened it out. The moment you realize your entire life has been a blessing, you stop serving yourself and serve the one that’s blessing you. He could take it all away tomorrow. Just like Job, I could lose it all. We all could be put to the test one day. Hard times will come, they always do. Be thankful for everything you have today, and when tomorrow’s hardships test you, don’t focus on earthly things, don’t cling to the things that were always going to be impermanent. Stay faithful to the Lord, who has and will walk beside you for eternity. Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
