It was both inevitable and necessary for the Ai companies to do this.
Anthropic is cracking down on AI-generated video game clones through Claude Code. A new instruction added tells Claude to build original games or use ideas from existing genres, but not recreate specific games, even if they’re renamed. The move could affect people using AI to recreate games like Terraria, Minecraft, Halo or GTA as browser games or unofficial ports.

"Slop" is work that is low effort and low intent. I'm pro-AI, and anti-slop. By low intent I mean the ratio of creative decisions being made by you vs by the AI. If the scale tips too far towards the AI, it's not your vision anymore. But there is so much nuance to using these tools in 2026. You can get very involved, give detailed notes and feedback, make minor changes, and iterate just like you would giving feedback to a human collaborator. This makes you a director, and an artist.

I love discovering indie games and supporting the people making them. I don’t charge for coverage. I just want to help more games get seen. It’s First Look Monday. Making a game? Put your game down below. I’d love to see what you’re working on🤝

I'm not saying there are Secret Codes in my game Strip Club Empire, but there may be signs.

Been working on some new features for Strip Club Empire, my upcoming 18+ strip club management sim. Patrons and dancers now have thought bubbles that give you a glimpse into what they're thinking, how they're feeling, and what's going on behind the scenes. Also made some updates to the UI. Put together a short gameplay video showing some of it in action. #IndieGame #GameDev #TycoonGame

Folks, Theres an agentic AI bot called @boardyai , that can connect you with people you want to connect with. He's here to help, he's free, just ask him to connect you with someone or a type of people you want to connect with.

Bingo
I'm not sure a lot of people understand what game coders actually do. We're not spending 9 hours a day finely hand crafting artisan software and expressing our inner dreams... 90% of the time we are fighting compilers and existing architecture, having to work out how undocumented code works, and tracking down obscure bugs and behavioural issues. Most of game programming is just difficult, tedious, laborious grunt work, and the cognitive load we have to endure to get anything done is tiring and frustrating. No game coder is doing it for this 90% of the job. We make games because the 10% that IS actually about making things fun and expressing ourselves is so incredibly rewarding it makes the other 90% bearable. Now imagine if there was a tool, some kind of AI agent maybe, which could do most of the 90% grunt work for you, leaving you to just make all the decisions and express your creativity. How amazing would that be. How completely revolutionary would that be.
