Taash's nonbinary identity is a metaphor for feeling caught between two worlds. Their actual questline is about their Rivaini/Qunari identity. They're both and feel like they're not allowed to be. The dinner scene with their mom makes this clear. Grifters, of course, don't care.
This moment, for those of you who ACTUALLY played the game, is one of the most emotional and impactful on-screen parts of Taash's storyline, and is a perfect example of peak writing and storytelling from @bioware, as well as acting from Jin Maley, with a moment of absolute grief and rage played out. But none of the LARPers out there know what I'm talking about, because they never played the game, and the only thing they can manage when they see this image is a "GO WOKE GO BROKE" cry of outrage.
By the way: her ENTIRE storyline is optional. You NEVER have to do a single quest with her other than the recruitment part. If trans representation scares you that much....don't play her storyline. Only YOU control the buttons you click. Nothing was ever FORCED on you. Tourists.
But if you DID do the storyline, the entire arc with her mom, and how it finishes. Oof. Chef's kiss.

max ranked all the classes in WHAT game you say
Replying to @Seramurai_
I skipped Veilguard after seeing all the tranny shit in the game. I have played every DA game, even max ranked all the classes in inquisition multiplayer.
Not playing this game and knowing this is optional or not doesnt make someone a tourist I 100% have played more DA than you

🎯 how to make every stream feel like it was worth the viewer's time:
this is the question i ask myself at the end of every session!!
_____
→ write notes for yourself to talk about when during the stream when you feel quiet!
→ create at least one memorable moment per stream intentionally. this sounds manufactured but it isn't. memorable moments are usually peaks of emotion!
→ check in with new members in chat every 10-15 minutes. explain what's going on!! explain who you are!
→ end on a high note, not just a tired "okay i should go." the last impression stays. THANK EVERYONE‼️give people a reason to come back before you say goodbye!
what makes a stream feel "worth it" to you?

For those who had pending orders thru a vgen that got banned in the broker hub purge, details below about opening a ticket to request your money back
If it wasn't released yet they should be able to get it back to you
Replying to @_VGen_
DETAILS RE: UNETHICAL BROKERS
After a thorough review of our moderation processes, we have discovered a bug in our reporting system that's been grouping new reports with old watchlist items instead of surfacing them to the moderation queue.
This means that while we were already actively banning unethical brokers and our community have been reporting them to us, we often never saw the proof that we needed to tie all these pseudonym accounts together - effectively allowing them to ban evade.
While it is really unfortunate that this bug has hindered our ability to moderate effectively for a while, the good news is that those reports are not lost. We have resurfaced the missing reports and are going through the backlog to take swift action against the bad actors and their affiliates.
Of our 200,000+ artists, we have identified ~300 associated accounts so far who we have now removed from the site. We have strong conviction in the actions that we have taken on all these accounts. From misrepresenting the nature of their account and services (ie pretending to be individuals when they’re a group, presenting a service as custom when it reuses a base), to ban evading and intentionally inviting bad actors, these are not the people VGen was built to support or advocate for, and for breaking our ToS, they have all been removed.
Although most commissions will not be eligible for refunds since the majority of these accounts were suspended due to ToS violations and association with bad actors and not explicitly fraudulent commission activity, if you paid via VGen Payments and have not yet released the withheld funds or you paid via PayPal and your payment is within the Buyer Protection Period, you may create a ticket to ask for a refund or one-time payment dispute approval.
However, if you paid via VGen Payments and have already released the funds or you paid via PayPal and your payment has passed its Buyer Protection Period, we will unfortunately not be able to recoup those funds and for that we are very sorry.

"Most vtubers would do better to accept this is a hobby"
It's good advice that is meant to stave off the feelings of failure and exhaustion that so many of us work ourselves too. It's advice many of us should probably take.
So why is it so hard? Why is it so hard to just treat it as a hobby?
I've been thinking about this a lot the last few days, and I think I have my answer.
Content creation requires you to wear a LOT of hats in order to succeed. Marketing, funneling, social media training, PR, video and image editing, and of course for those of us who like streaming, the ability to talk for hours at a time and be entertaining live consistently. We have to clip ourselves, edit ourselves, show up over and over and over and over again and wear a dozen different hats.
We have to because the mechanisms for success are rarely in the places we want to be spending time. And for streamers, most of us enjoy streaming TO people, it is an inherently social and performative act. But in order to stream TO people you have to do all the rest.
Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe there's a lot of people out there that are happy to stream to an empty chat. But I don't think so. I think our days are brightened when viewers stop by, when we form communities, when we share our moments of joy, heartbreak, pain, and all the rest.
But we all know the discoverability on twitch. We all know how many people DO stream to only 1 or two viewers. We want what we've worked for.
But to do so... many of us are killing ourselves. We're either cutting off sleep, proper health, money, friendship/relationships outside of streaming, or all of the above.
So what does it mean for us to "just treat it like a hobby"? A hobby is something you do whenever you feel like it for a little or as much as you feel like.
But if we did that, I would wager that the majority of us would essentially stop doing a lot of the things required for discoverability. In turn, this would mean a slow and steady fall off as your consistency waned, your off platform efforts dwindled, and you spent time frankly taking care of yourself.
And then, unfortunately... a lot of us would not be happy with streaming with a greatly reduced reach and audience. For many of us, treating it truly like a hobby would result in losing the fun part of the hobby alongside the painful and hard parts.
Treating it like a hobby when you've been trying so hard to "make it" feels tantamount to quitting altogether. And that's not even addressing the feeling of mentally giving up on a dream, admitting defeat, deeming your efforts a failure. It's a hard mental hurdle.
Even writing this up, I know I probably shouldn't post it. Negativity or sensitivity are "bad for branding". But it is what it is. I like to talk, to put my thoughts and feelings into words. To share a sentiment that may be beneath the surface for many of us even if we haven't articulated it yet.
If any of this resonated and you somehow made it to the bottom, let me know.

things i wish someone told me before i became a vtuber:
_____
→ your first 100 streams are practice. not in a motivational way, literally. the skills you need to be a watchable streamer take time to develop. nobody is compelling on stream from day one. the reps are the point.
→ consistency matters more than quality at the beginning. showing up on schedule every time, before your content is perfect, builds the muscle memory and audience habit that quality alone can't buy.
→ streaming more does not equal growing faster. streaming 7 days a week to 3 viewers doesn't accelerate growth. content that reaches NEW viewers does. those are completely different activities.
→ the algorithm doesn't hate you. it just doesn't know you exist yet. discoverability is a skill you learn, not luck.
→ community and audience are different things. an audience watches. a community participates. you can have 1,000 viewers and zero community. you can have 30 viewers and a community that's more valuable than most large ones.
which of these hit? 👇
🔖 save for a rough streaming week
