Being an Ameer & a first class scholar is no mean feat, e ku oriire Ameer
I did a work for someone and tbh, it’s probono from my heart, he’s impressed and asked for my account number few days later. I am not the one to refuse money, I sent it, It’s more than a week now, I’ve been checking my account balance everyday, mi o gbo pa, mi o gbo po.
Is it fair to ask when I will see alert? 🤣😆
NB- We didn’t agree for a price oo, it’s on recommendation from my mentor that I did the work diligently and I’m never expecting money either but he asked for my account number himself 🤦♀️

Poverty mentality
I do this whenever I travel by air. I’ll familiarise myself with whoever I’m sitting next to, collect their number, and ask if someone is picking them up or if they’re ordering a ride.
Once I hear “I’m ordering a ride,” congratulations, you’ve just become my airport taxi. 😂
I’ll discreetly use my phone to snap the car plate number and send it, alongside the person’s details, to my DSS friend in case anything happens.
Once you drop me, na block straight 🫣😂
Abeg, those airport taxi fares are not beans jare😂
Thank you so much Barrister for saying this in a more elaborate way
Crab Mentality niyen o!
!In Nigeria, we suffer from what is called "Crab Mentality". It is also known as the "Pull Him Down Syndrome". Brother, if you put several crabs in an open bucket, none of them will ever escape. As soon as one crab struggles to climb to the top, the other crabs will reach out and pull it back down into the bucket. That is exactly what is happening in our society.
Crab mentality is a mindset that says: "If I cannot have it, then you cannot have it either." It is not that opportunities are not there. It is simply that some people cannot stand to see their own brother succeed. Instead of being inspired or happy for someone's progress, they become envious and jealous, and they will do anything to frustrate that progress.
You see it everywhere in Nigeria. In business, you can open a small provision store today, and the same neighbour who was greeting you warmly yesterday will open an identical store right beside yours tomorrow. He will even sell at a loss, not because he wants to grow, but because he wants to ensure you do not grow. In the office, when you are diligent and your boss starts to notice you, it is often your own colleagues who will go behind you to gossip, to write petitions, and to tell Oga that you are not loyal, simply because they cannot bear the thought of your promotion.
It is even worse among friends and family. You may finally get a visa to travel abroad, and it is your own friend who will try to report you or spoil the process. You buy a new car, and suddenly there is a family meeting about how you have become too proud and need to be brought down spiritually. Online, the pattern is the same. When a young Nigerian is building a genuine brand or business and doing well, the comment section will be filled with fellow Nigerians looking for his past mistakes, insulting him, and trying to cancel him. We are quick to celebrate outsiders, but we attack our own.
The same spirit shows in our politics. We would rather support a bad leader who comes from our tribe than a competent leader from another tribe, and we will work hard to pull down a good leader simply because he is not our person.
This mindset is so common here for several reasons. First, the extreme poverty and a scarcity mentality. Many people believe success is limited, so if you have it, it automatically means there is none left for them. Second, uncontrolled envy disguised as morality. Instead of admitting jealousy, we discredit other people's legitimate success by saying he must have done rituals, or she must be sleeping around. Third is our lack of a collective growth culture. We were not raised to believe that your success is my success. We see life as a fight where one person must lose for another to win. Finally, years of survival mentality from difficult economic and political periods have made everyone focus on struggling for themselves alone.
The effect of this mentality is devastating. It kills creativity because people become afraid to share their ideas, thinking they will be stolen. It kills community progress, which is why many estates, cooperatives, and group businesses fail. It is also one of the reasons our best brains are leaving the country. Many people are not just japaing for money, they are leaving for an environment where their success will be celebrated and not attacked. Ultimately, when we keep pulling each other down, we all remain down, and the country remains poor.
To cure it, we must deliberately change our mindset. We must learn to celebrate other people genuinely, contribute to their progress whilst understanding that a colleague's success does not block your own. We must develop an abundance mentality and believe there is enough success to go around. Another person's breakthrough should be proof that success is possible, not a threat. We must choose collaboration over senseless competition, asking how we can partner and refer each other instead of trying to destroy each other.

When Remi Tinubu bought cars for APC women leaders just days after sharing ₦50,000 with people to start selling akara, none of you spoke up for local producers or raised concerns about emotional intelligence. But the moment it comes from someone you dislike, you start writing threads. Abosi o da!
And me i will pour it to your faces😂😂👏
Twitter is wild, I quoted a young first class scholar and asked him to reach out for help if he needs guidance with Grad school opportunity overseas & some dinkheads came for my head:
“You shouldn’t have, let them remain in Nigeria & make Nigeria great”- “You guys are responsible for the lack of depth in labour market in Nigeria” - “Why can’t you advice him to apply for opportunities in Nigeria, why must he travel overseas”
Cry from now till tomorrow, I won’t stop doing what I know how to do best to elevate the career of young brilliant chaps in this country.
And by the way, I’ve mentored more people towards a stellar career in Nigeria than I have with Grad school opportunities abroad but the hoodlums will never have an idea.
People think it’s Dayo that bought about a billion naira cars out of his own benevolence 🤣
Be deceived not
Don’t take the criticism of Dayo Isreal to heart by APC urchin ooo..
Read between the lines, they are not angry he’s posting it oo, they are said he’s bringing such things to the timeline at this time they lied that the ordinary people should endure the hardship of APC…
Some are angry they are not part of the project too, don’t be deceive by the outcry of APC people ooo
