NewJeans could face a lawsuit even if they tell the truth about their label, under contract terms reported by the New York Times.

Hybe: “Contracts and litigation materials held only by the parties involved have been leaked to foreign media and are being used as tools to attack K-pop”
If criticizing the inhumane conditions of NJ's contract is an attack on K-pop, then it deserves to be attacked

Hybe are saying they told the New York Times to “explicitly state Min Hee-jin was the contracting party,” but the New York Times did not fulfill their request.
Why are they dragging this out?
The New York Times article didn’t even need to clarify this. It was the first narrative HYBE’s bots immediately pushed the second the article came out.
it's so silly to me that ADOR and HYBE are trying to make this everyone's problem. like yes, sure, all these companies are corrupt, but yours is the one that got blatantly exposed for it. right now, the scrutiny is on you, not everyone else.
The "unusually aggressive" contract raised eyebrows even among entertainment lawyers accustomed to the standards of the K-pop industry. thefader.com/2026/11/05/newj…
let's be real here k-pop deserves to be attacked. it's good that we can attack this exploitative industry with the TRUTH instead of conspiracy theories for once.

why it's always armys defending hybe even when the facts are RIGHT THERE 😭 hybe was in charge of drafting that contract so whether y'all like it or not that company IS responsible of this, even if min hee-jin was also part of it lol
Replying to @nytimes
Funny how Min Hee-jin gets all the credit when things go right, but when things go wrong, it's all HYBE's fault. She was literally ADOR's CEO when these contracts were signed. You can't praise her for having so much control and then pretend she had zero responsibility

mhj had control over how much trainee debt the girls incurred, which the nyt confirmed is determined by each subsidiary. newjeans debuted debt-free and were paid quickly. hybe’s legal team drafted these contracts. focus on who was responsible for the provisions being exposed.
