Dear Sindhu, that was a very informative tweet. But - it should have come as an original post from you after reading his, ie not a response
You shd not amplify keyboard warriors
The handle has a mere 1.9k followers, your response amplified the idiot
Mr. Kannan, with all due respect, I don’t think your tweet fully captures the reality of professional badminton.
A first-round exit at Wimbledon earns £80,000. Winning the China Open, one of badminton’s richest tournaments, earns $140,000. Lose in the first round? Just $2,000.
Yet our expenses are largely similar. Travel, coaches, physios, trainers and support teams. I’ve had long conversations with Rohan Bopanna about this very disparity.
I agree that established athletes should strive to be financially independent. I’ve been fortunate to have wonderful sponsors, but not everyone has that privilege. That’s also why organisations like @OGQ_India are so important.
More importantly, if you read Mihir’s article in full, you’ll see that younger players had to compete without coaches, while several withdrew from tournaments.
I can find ways to fund my tour. But what about the 18-year-old chasing her dreams, hoping to become the next Sindhu or Lakshya?
And I must acknowledge the tremendous support the Government of India and @Media_SAI have extended to athletes like us over the years. Their contribution to Indian sport cannot be understated.
Accountability is absolutely necessary. But supporting athletes isn’t bleeding the system. It’s investing in India’s sporting future. And we shouldn’t lose sight of that.

Since “being authentic” became a trend, many have taken it as permission to not grow. Even when their “exactly who I am” is damaging their work and their life.
That is not authentic. That is static.
I have met founders who dress up their temper tantrums as authenticity. I have met corporate leaders who call their preference for certain people (and certain races) authenticity.
Being authentic does not mean staying ineffective, partial or damaging. It is not a ticket out of the hard work of growth.
Authenticity is refusing to fake an ideal you haven't reached. Not refusing to aim for it.
The word comes from the Greek "authentes": one who acts on their own authority.
Self-rule. Not self-indulgence.
So tell the real story of your life. Keep tuning it toward the ideal. And share where you are on the journey, with confidence.
Both "who I am now" and "where I am going" matter.
Do that well, and you are being authentic.

@DarioAmodei
Dario Amodei, Elon Musk and Sam Altman now agree that we must slow down the development of AI and “pace the frontier.”
That’s a start, but it’s not enough.
When you are racing towards a cliff, you don’t just ease up on the gas pedal. You hit the brakes.
When the future of humanity is at stake we need a PAUSE on advanced AI development and a ban on artificial superintelligence — an AI mind smarter than any human and capable of operating independently beyond our control.
At their upcoming AI summit, Trump and Xi must negotiate a treaty to pause AI and ban superintelligence before it is too late.

Remember when we did that in the U.S.? Made our scientists rockstars?
Ignore me at your peril billionaires:
We *MUST* cut our own scientists into “the upside” that they created.
“Capitalists” are giving the golden goose to Communists in China. This is madness.
Mark my words.
Actually this is perfect. It explains how so many people are able to drink an entire bottle of OM in a session. It's really common
Plus it explains why it tastes better than any other rum. Because it's optimising for the flavour rather than the rum
Wow !
All along, Old Monk hasn't been a rum at all, but a "rum flavoured spirit", based not on sugarcane juice or by-products, but a cheap, neutral base spirit, caramel colouring & additives to pass it off as a dark aromatic rum ?!?

Hey @CdslIndia - i received this message

Destroying an established civil identity on "humanitarian" grounds is misguided, misplaced, uninformed, moronic.
It's 5 or 6 bleeding heart morons, arrogating and misusing electoral mandate. No one was voted in on the platform of simply letting refugees swarm in. NOT ONE
When did this change, that wheelchair users are LAST?
.@KLM is the worse airline and I wish @Delta would stop being a codeshare partner with them. How they treat #ADA passengers is disrespectful. Who thinks it’s a good idea for ADA passengers to board last?!?!? @NiceAirportFR

THIS IS IMPORTANT. I NEED YOUR HELP.
Dear friends with access to research paper databases. I have a favor to ask of you.
The Government of India has used public funds (tax payers money) from the Department of Science, Biotechnology and Ayush Ministry for running the SUTRA-PIC (Scientific Utilization Through Research Augmentation-Prime Products from Indigenous Cows) program which claims focus on the scientific validation and commercialization of indigenous cow breeds and their byproducts (like milk, urine, and dung). They have claimed to have published scientific evidence from this cow program as per this article: theprint.in/feature/modi-gov…
We know that one such paper from IIT-Roorke under the SUTRA-PIC program that was recently in the limelight had serious concerns of scientific integrity and fraud and a post publication review has been officially asked for: teapawt.org/theliverdoc/status/206…
This is where I need your help. If you have the access, please source the full published papers that were part of the SUTRA-PIC program and kindly send me the full paper + supplementary documents to my email address - theliverdr(at)gmail(dot)com
My team would like to do an extensive and exhaustive post publication peer review on these papers to understand if there are consequences of public fund wastage on such programs. We need to stop "positive outcomes" fraud pseudoscience papers from infiltrating good scientific sources.
Thanks in advance!
For the kind attention of the public please!
All through the night, I performed a post publication peer review of this IIT Roorke paper that claimed that it identified chemical components in cow urine that could highly efectively kill Chikungunya virus in lab conditions.
pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/acs…
There are serious concerns in the paper that mandate post publication Editorial Review from the Journal and Publication Integrity Office, and need for validation of findings... that could mandate a retraction as per COPE Guidelines. A document with all concerns explained has been emailed to:
🟡Professor (Dr) Thomas F. Hofmann
Editor-in-Chief
ACS Agricultural Science & Technology
🟡Copy to: Publication Integrity Office
ACS Publications, American Chemical Society
🟡Copy to: Professor (Dr) Laura McConnell
Deputy Editor, ACS Agricultural Science & Technology
🟡Copy to:William King, The Managing Editor American Chemical Society
A lay summary of major concerns are provided below:
🔴Possible areas of data fabrication, manipulation, and internal contradictions in the study claiming antiviral activity of cow urine distillate (CUD).
🔴Identical efficacy values reported for different experimental conditions, suggesting possible data duplication or carryover.
🔴Methodological flaws, including testing at cytotoxic concentrations, invalidating antiviral claims.
🔴Manipulation of synergy thresholds, using non-standard cut-offs to falsely claim synergism.
🔴Inconsistent and contradictory GC–MS datasets, with discrepancies in metabolite identification and absent compounds.
🔴Identification of synthetic pharmaceuticals, such as medroxyprogesterone, as natural metabolites, indicating contamination or misreporting.
🔴Implausible detection of prostaglandin A1, which is unstable and unlikely to survive high-temperature distillation.
🔴Lack of direct evidence linking identified metabolites to antiviral effects, with concentrations in CUD unverified.
🔴Cytotoxicity confounding viral inhibition results, with host cell death possibly causing false positives.
🔴Weak in silico and biochemical data, with docking scores and enzyme inhibition results unreliable.
🔴Structural inaccuracies in molecular docking, such as improbable hydrogen bonds.
🔴Statistical and analytical misrepresentations, including inappropriate synergy thresholds and wide variability without proper significance testing.
🔴Undeclared conflicts of interest, as funding sources and author affiliations favor traditional and cow-derived products.
🔴Numerous inconsistencies across figures and tables, including contradictory retention times and unlabelled peaks, undermining data credibility.
Requesting for action from the Journal
@ACSPublications @AmerChemSociety @ACSReactions
➡️Initiate an editorial review under ACS and COPE guidelines.
➡️Obtain raw data: plaque counts, cell viability, GC–MS spectra, and metabolite quantification.Verify compound identifications and concentrations with independent analysis.
➡️Reassess the validity of the claimed antiviral mechanism based on verified data.
➡️Reevaluate synergy analyses using standard criteria.
➡️Consider issuing an Expression of Concern pending investigation.
➡️If unresolved, proceed with retraction to protect scientific integrity and public health.
Cow urine is mammal urine first and foremost. Before anything else
Indic lens has some cataract
I have been spending most of my non-clinical hours looking at the Modi government's public funded published studies on Cow-based product research that are published in pre-clinical journals [thank you to everyone who sent me those full papers].
I am truly dissapointed to notice that most of these publications have been poorly peer-reviewed. I do not know how they got through such journals of repute.
Various papers from 2025 and 2026 from BITS Pilani, IIT Dhanbad, IIT Varanasi and IIT Roorke have clear evidence of fabrication, data falsification, data misinterpretations and duplications.
The IIT Roorke cow-urine paper is now under active investigation (see pic below).
I believe more will follow, once official notifications of concerns are sent to each journal's integrity office.
This is public (tax) money spent on fraud and deception to uphold a whole pseudoscience industry in India. Shameful.
Is anyone in this amazing government answerable for such public infrastructure @GoI_MeitY @FinMinIndia
