Did you know Leeds West Indian Carnival is the oldest continuous Caribbean style street carnival in Europe!? Founded in 1967, it was led by Arthur France, who came to Leeds from St Kitts and Nevis in 1957, bringing Caribbean culture, music and heritage to the city.

Seeing lots of GoFundMes for Jarvis Frimpong. Please double-check before donating, as some people create fake fundraisers to collect money that never reaches families. Look for pages linked by his family or a reputable source. Rest in peace, Jarvis🤍🪽

Why do they keep calling United the biggest club in the world? When have they ever been bigger than Real?
🗣️ Gary Neville: "The Glazers have to sell Manchester United now."
🗣️ Roy Keane: "How did the Glazers get involved in the first place?"
Neville: "We know that Roy..."
Roy Keane: "There's a HORSE involved in this! No one wants to talk about the horse. Can we talk about the horse? The horse is KEY!" 😭😭
For new fans who don't know:
Man United's downfall started because of a HORSE named Rock of Gibraltar.
Sir Alex Ferguson and Irish billionaire John Magnier co-owned the horse. They had a fallout over who owned the horse and its breeding rights.
Magnier owned shares in Man United. To get back at Fergie, he sold his shares to the Glazers.
The Glazers then used THAT to buy United with DEBT. £600m+ debt loaded on the club.
Hundreds of millions in debt. From 2005 till today.
One horse destroyed the biggest club in the world. 🤯
And Neville doesn't want to talk about it...
Do you think Man United will ever recover while the Glazers are still there?

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026)
Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.
We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway.
America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.
His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen.

Kelso Cochrane was an Antiguan carpenter stabbed to death by a white gang in Notting Hill in May 1959, amid racial tensions following the 1958 riots. No one was ever charged. His murder is widely regarded as Britain’s first racist killing.

Little did we know back in 2022 that we were facing a future Ballon d'Or winner in Harry Kane! 🥇

The first person I thought of when I heard the news🥹. To lose your boy after more than half a century is so sad. RIP to our professor . The big screen and the stage has lost a great. 🙏🏾🕊️😪
