Back in 2018, open source changed my life.
It gave me opportunities, a community, and a chance to build something that people around the world could use.
But there was a problem: it wasn't sustainable for me to do open source full-time.
And I still wish I could.
I know I'm not the only one.
Across Africa, there are developers and maintainers building libraries, frameworks, tools, and infrastructure that deserve more recognition and financial support.
So I built something for us.
Introducing flossafrica.com.
A platform making it easier for open-source creators and maintainers in Africa to get discovered, receive sponsorships, and sustain the work they do.
You get visibility.
Your projects get a place to be discovered.
And patrons can support your work without jumping through hoops.
Powered by @bachs_hq Connect, maintainers receive 100% of the money patrons sponsor, accessible same day for Naira sponsorships.
No complicated funding process. Just people supporting the software that makes the internet, businesses, and our communities work.
I believe Africa needs both:
→ Builders creating profitable products. Find them on pairlore.com.
→ Builders creating the open-source foundations and critical software that others depend on.
Both deserve a place in Africa's technology story.
@flossafrica is for the second group.
If you're an African open-source maintainer, I'd love to see what you're building, go add your projects and setup your account to receive funds.
And if you believe open source deserves better support on the continent, go fund a maintainer on FLOSSAfrica or at the very least, help me spread the word.
Open source changed my life. I want to help make it sustainable for the next generation of African builders.

Tech Forge 2026 brings together developers, designers, founders, product people, tech professionals and emerging talent for a full day of practical learning, honest conversations and meaningful connections.
This isn't another “inspiration-only” tech event. The Builders’ Blueprint is built around three things that matter when you're trying to grow a career, build a product or navigate what's next in tech:
Skills: Practical knowledge you can take away and apply.
Strategy: How to think, position yourself, make better decisions and turn what you know into progress.
Innovation: What's changing with AI and emerging technology, what it means for you, and how to build for what's coming.

🚨🚨 BIG SCOOP 🚨🚨
Moniepoint (@moniepoint) has shut down MonieWorld, its UK-based remittance business, just over a year after launch. The Fintech unicorn confirmed to Big Tech This Week.
However, due to intense competition in the UK-Africa remittance corridor, the company made the decision to wind down its remittance business and are currently on the market for potential buyers.
If Moniepoint cannot outlast the competition here, the less-resourced entrants have a considerably steeper hill to climb.

Vibe coding made it easier than ever to build a UI that works once.
I want to teach you to build one that survives the browser.
Today I'm launching:
Building Durable UI in the Era of Vibe Coding 🚀
I've been thinking about this course since before AI coding became prevalent.
Because these questions have bothered me for years:
Why do we keep state in component memory when it belongs in the URL?
Why do we treat refresh, Back, copied URLs and interrupted flows as edge cases?
How do we get developers and vibe coders to understand that state placement is a product decision, not just an architecture choice?
Durable UI is my answer.
12 videos are live today.
New videos will be added every week until the core course is complete.
After that, it keeps growing with recipes, patterns and agent skills.
And I didn't want this to be another course where you watch me talk about code.
You can test your own application today:
`npx durable-ui scan`
Run it in your codebase.
See how durable your UI actually is.
If you build web apps, get the course.
If you lead engineers, get it for your team.
Launch pricing ends tonight at 11:59 PM WAT.
🇳🇬 Nigeria: ₦29,000+ → ₦49,000+
🌍 Global: $59 → $147

Most invoicing software assumes you send invoices every day.
Most freelancers don't.
Some months you send 12 invoices.
Some months you send one.
Yet you're expected to keep paying a monthly subscription either way.
That never made sense to me.
So I made Hagfish and then instead of just subscription, there is also Credits:
• Your first invoice is free.
• No subscription required.
• Top up only when you need to.
• ₦2,000 gets you 4 invoice sends.
• Your credits never expire.
Pay for invoices, not another monthly bill.
If you're a freelancer, consultant, creator, or agency, I'd love for you to give it a try and tell me what you think.

Real ones know the biggest headache when building a product isn’t writing code.
It’s thinking about your potential customers, customer acquisition, retention strategies, pricing, positioning, distribution, and whether people will actually use what you’re building.
I’ve barely slept these past few days. Just thinking.
Then remember…
Na me be frontend engineer.
Na me be backend engineer.
Na me be systems engineer.
Na me be product strategist.
Na me be customer support.
Na me be founder.
Building from zero is a different kind of wild pressure.
