Today, I was inaugurated as Chairman of the Governing Board of the National Universities Commission with one clear mission: to ensure every Nigerian degree earns global respect through quality, integrity, innovation, and opportunity. The work begins now.
I joined vibrant young minds, innovators, and technology enthusiasts at the BlockFest Africa Conference held at the National Theatre, Lagos, for meaningful conversations around Web3, blockchain technology, Artificial Intelligence, and the future of digital innovation in Africa.

Appointment of a Round Peg for a Round Hole in NUC!
I wish to convey my heartfelt happiness and goodwill over the appointment of our brother, the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Oluwatoyin Temitayo Ogundipe, as the Governing Board Chairman of the National Universities Commission (NUC) by the President.
Professor Ogundipe, a highly respected pastor and the immediate past Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos from 2017 to 2022, is an expert in Botany with special interests in biosystemics, molecular plant taxonomy, and ethnobotany, among others.
He demonstrated leadership skills at various times in his previous positions in public office and in the church.
Under his leadership, UNILAG made its debut and steadily climbed the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, moving from an unranked status in 2017 to consistently positioning itself in the highly competitive 401-500 global band.
We worked together with Professor Ogundipe to ensure the introduction of the LLM in ICT Law and Cyber Law in Nigeria in some selected universities. These are the University of Lagos and Bayero University Kano (BUK).
In addition, we signed the first Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the introduction of the LLM in ICT Law at the University of Lagos on the 16th of November, 2018, while I was the Director General/CEO of the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA). The aim was to ensure the effective regulation of the ICT sector in Nigeria by lawyers in partnership with ICT experts.
I wish our brother, Professor Ogundipe, a very successful tenure as Chairman of the NUC Governing Board so that our universities will benefit immensely from his wealth of knowledge, experience, and wisdom.

This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it." — Psalm 118:24
Today, I celebrate with profound gratitude to Almighty God as I mark my 66th birthday.
God has indeed been good to me and my family.
As we celebrate Easter, a season of sacrifice, renewal, and hope, may we all be reminded of the power of unity, compassion, and selfless service.
Let us continue to work together in building a better, stronger, and more inclusive community for all.
The value of AI in health is determined by the people who design, validate, deploy, and use it. If clinicians, educators, and leaders do not mold these technologies, they will be shaped by them.
At the 3rd edition of the Professor Ogundipe Innovative Challenge (POIC), I was once again truly inspired by the ingenuity and brilliance shown by every participating team.
A big congratulations to all the teams for their outstanding presentations, and an even bigger applause to the SAOT (Agritech Solution) Team, the well-deserved winner of this year’s edition!

THIS IS THE DAY THAT THE LORD HAS MADE!
I will rejoice and be glad in it!
Today, I step boldly into Chapter 65, full of gratitude, grace, and growth.
From humble beginnings to the 65th floor, it's been a journey of faith, favor, and fulfillment.
Happy Birthday to me!
I had the honour of attending the book launch in honour of an exceptional academician, Professor Esther Olufunmilayo Adegbite for her new book titled:
“Readings on Contemporary Issues in International Finance, Economics and Other Management Sciences in Emerging Economies.”
It’s a valuable resource for students, scholars, business leaders, and policymakers seeking deeper understanding of the dynamic forces shaping emerging economies.
