PROJECT MALFOID : BOOK 1-7 TEASER TRAILER
What if all #Malfoid videos were put into chronological order, from Books 1 to 7?
PROJECT MALFOID is a fan-made project that compiles Malfoid videos into a chronological cut, attempting to tie all the videos together as seamlessly as possible.
I'm starting with extended trailers, with the ultimate goal of creating a full-length movie covering the entire saga.
Of course, all artists will be fully credited, as this project wouldn't be possible without their incredible work.
PROJECT MALFOID - BOOK 5 INTRO
After a wholesome video on Book 1, we are finally diving into Book 5!
With Sectumsempra being the pinnacle of Book 6, I can't wait to show what started Malfoid's downward spiral—this is going to be I think very close to the definitive intro to Book 5!

Here are my thoughts on the editing and the scene:
Well, that was even more challenging than the Sectumsempra vid because this is just regular dialogue. I can't just get saved by some goated epic music. It needs to work on its own if I want to know whether the project as a whole can work.
In cinema, you only notice bad editing, so this was hard for me to work on, knowing the audio and character portrayals change constantly. Hopefully, I did the scene justice by keeping the characters true to themselves.
At first, I was scared that the first source would overshadow the rest because the quality is really good, but she gets a bit too frustrated at one point in the source and even guesses that he's Harry (be sure to check all the sources and compare), and I didn't want that for their first meeting. In the book, she's not supposed to know he's Harry yet.
And in the second one, even though the audio quality is a bit lower compared to the first, she talks about Quidditch and asks Harry about his parents, which I needed to include.
That's why I chose the clips in that order, actually. I took the page from the book and tried to match the order of events as closely as possible so it would flow naturally and really feel authentic, and it looks like it worked, at least for me.
I really wanted these two not to feel like enemies until the next meeting. I wanted to show a bit of what their relationship could have been if there were no pressure, dark external forces, or prejudices involved. They can just chat and have a good time, even though she says a few rude things unintentionally to Harry because of her upbringing.
Harry, in the book, is basically just thinking, "Oh, she's a bit like Dudley," so it's nothing new to him.
It's actually one of my favorite videos on the channel because of how simple and sweet it is, so I hope you like it too!
