Russian zoomers are once again injuring themselves with hammers to get sharper cheekbones — more than 100 people have suffered injuries from “bonesmashing” Young looksmaxxers aged 15–26 believe that hitting their cheekbones and chins will make their bones more prominent and their faces more masculine. Even grown men up to the age of 45 are engaging in this practice. In reality, one young man suffered a haemorrhage, while another experienced numbness in part of his face. The blows can damage nerves and fracture the jaw and cheekbones. Repeated injuries can lead to fibrosis, which may require surgery to correct.
