Ach übrigens: - Der Laptop muss jedes Jahr zur DGUV Prüfung. - Auf ihm darf sie Claude nicht mit den Mails verbinden: DSGVO. - Den Laptop darf sie ohne Gefährdungsbeurteilung nicht mit nach Hause nehmen. - Auf ihm darf sie kein ChatGPT öffnen ohne Schulung. - Auf ihm darf sie keine personenbezogenen Daten haben ohne Löschkonzept. - Auf ihm darf sie nach 20 Uhr keine Mail mehr lesen: Arbeitszeitgesetz. - Für ihn muss ich ihr alle 3 Jahre eine Augenuntersuchung anbieten: Bildschirmarbeitsverordnung. - Und wegwerfen darf ich ihn am Ende auch nicht: Elektrogesetz. Und zu jedem Punkt muss ich noch einen Beauftragten bezahlen. Aber hey, ein Jahr schneller abschreiben. Danke Berlin.

Unpopuläre Meinung: Immobilien in Deutschland sind aktuell eine der schlechteren Ideen: -Die Boomer-Häuser kommen in den nächsten 15 bis 20 Jahren auf den Markt -Hunderttausende Industriejobs fallen weg, mit ihnen die Kaufkraft und (Finanzierungs-) Sicherheit -Höhere Erbschaftssteuer und neue Steuern auf Immobilien sind nur eine Frage der Zeit -Die Bevölkerung schrumpft Angebot steigt, Nachfrage sinkt = Erste Vorlesung VWL. „Betongold” zählt maximal noch für A-Lagen in Großstädten.

Another small glimpse into why running a business in Germany is basically self torture: Recently, one of our employees at the clinic (with us for over 10 years) stole €3,000. A patient paid cash for treatments. She kept all the money. Didn't enter it in the register, didn't put it on the daily sheet, didn't bring it to the bank with the rest of the week's cash. Her only mistake: she forgot to throw away the carbon copy of a hand written receipt. So we had it in black and white. I know how this country works, so I got a top lawyer right away. Cost us a five-figure sum. Because I knew in Germany, even a case this obvious is not a safe win in court. Then the judge, before the actual hearing: "Yes, she probably did steal it. But you could have warned her first and told her not to do it again. You have no video proof, a termination isn't that clear here." We knew GDPR would be an issue, so we immediately deleted every photo on every page where her face was visible. Her lawyer still dug up an old photo on a Facebook page we hadn't used in years. You can see her from behind (no face, just her back). That's it. He warned us to filed a GDPR claim against us. The potential damages (close to 6 digits) from that were so high that we had no choice. In the end we: – paid the lawyer full – kept her on the payroll for 3 more months – paid her a hefty severance – dropped every claim regarding the theft She stole from us and left with a check. No wonder why nobody wants to employ anyone here.
