Every time I give my dog a bath I always wonder how humans don’t bathe regularly

It was even his birthday last week and that convo reminded me
Someone had to remind me of how deeply I felt for an ex from a few years ago. Honestly I scare myself cause they weren’t wrong. But as I live and breathe, that man is barely a passing thought and I don’t even remember feeling those emotions

In a fully lived life you will be on both sides of this at one point or another
Thinking about the time when my ex was crying and telling me she's scared I won't want to be with her anymore and as I was consoling her, all I could think was: "Damn, I want to break up"

This is the basis of secure attachment btw. A stubborn commitment to respond to and work with the reality of your experience of that person.
I think most people (including me) get way too metaphysical about relationships and lost in questions like “can this person change?” or “why are they doing what they’re doing?” and generally would benefit from focusing more on behavior. like if the behavior is sufficiently concerning you have to just abandon the metaphysics

So hard to understand that love is not possession. Trying to control what people do is not love. The constant need to control other people is a representation a lack of control you have in your own life. To love and care for someone is to give them the freedom to be them

This man doesn’t understand anything that I’m explaining but the fact that he sits there and just listens while asking follow up questions 🥰

everyone needs to learn what codependency ACTUALLY means. it’s not just being obsessed with your partner— the term was coined by loved ones of alcoholics who ruined their lives trying to save someone else. codependency means trying to save others at the cost of yourself

Because being romantic requires you to be empathetic and to have the ability to see beyond yourself. A huge red flag if you ask me.
leaving a man because he’s not romantic enough is valid btw

This was outstanding! He made this video for his wife on how he first met her!! They are 23 years strong and this was one of her birthday surprises! This was so adorable and nostalgic . One of the best things you can give someone for their birthday is memories, old and new ones.
