In next week's workshop, I share my strategies and the activities I do on the first day (and beyond) to create community and build a strong foundation for our future racetalk conversations. I hear over and over that this part of the workshop leads to so many lightbulb moments.

I often share a lot about the RaceTalk workshops I offer. Did you know I offer lectures as well? These lectures include an interactive Q&A session.

Challenging Race & Gender Bias in Student Evaluations If you're a faculty member many of your students may have already completed their evaluations this semester/term, but in case they haven't I wanted to share a guide I created a couple of years ago. (1/4)

In the meantime, I have compiled a list of resources to help women and racially marginalized faculty to be proactive in addressing the race and gender bias in student evaluations. This guide includes sources I have authored or created as well as helpful sources from others. (3/4)

If you have additional resources or strategies you use, I'd love to hear about them! Here's a link to the Resource Guide: bit.ly/3mJfOsG (4/4)

Over Halloween, we had a racist incident at University of Richmond where I teach. Unfortunately, these incidents occur frequently on college campuses across the United States. Some incidents are more egregious than others. Some spur conversations in ways others don’t. 1/8

You’ll have a lesson plan for your own RaceTalk workshop, so that you and your students have a roadmap for navigating these discussions more effectively. You’ll have what you need so that the next time, you have a foundation on which to start the conversation with your class. 7/8
