Human pancreatic #MesenchymalStromalCells express islet-protective ANXA1 and there are more MSCs around insulin-containing islets in #T1D. #MSC therapy may be most effective for individuals ≥13 years at diagnosis, where MSCs can better survive link.springer.com/article/10… 🔓

If you know of anyone living with Type 1 diabetes who would be happy to provide us with a blood sample in the morning and evening (can accommodate weekends too) you could really help us understand if the time of day could make a difference to how well therapies work!
Type 1 Diabetes Grand Challenge researchers need your help!🧑🔬
Researchers are looking for people aged 18-40 living with type 1 diabetes who can get to the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff to give two blood samples over one day.
This study looks to answer the question: Does timing matter for therapies to prevent beta cell destruction? This is so that the success of any future therapies for type 1 diabetes can be improved.
To get involved in this study, please contact the research nurses Shinto Jose ([email protected]) and Alex Howell ([email protected]).
Eligible participants who successfully donate two blood samples will get a £300 voucher for Love2shop ✨
