@LBC @mrjamesob As a volunteer at a hospital snack bar who raises funds for the hospital (league of friends) we were regularly told off by the hospital for selling all the sweet stuff but we wouldn't make much money selling salads etc! Also bariatric stuff costs 3-6 x as much!
Did you know that the council doesn't want the bother of listening to our views so they're making it nearly impossible to petition-Protect Resident Voices: Reconsider the Proposed Changes to Hillingdon's Petition Scheme - Sign the Petition! c.org/WRQbYMg8L5 via @UKChange

The end of an era - After almost a century we said goodbye this morning to our great companion of the airwaves Radio 4 198 LW. I shall miss her warmth and crackle. Here’s the final sign off at the end of #theshippingforecast before she fell silent… ❤️

@DavidLloydRADIO David Lloyd is back on the wireless @BoomRadioUK and all is well with the world!
@DavidLloydRADIO I was beginning to worry it was all too much for you! I felt pretty demented after running a small station for a couple of years!
Help!! I've just constructed a small greenhouse and now I've come to the last page of the instructions and it says - only to be carried out by a competent person!! Does anyone know a competent person?!

Never enough loos!
#OnThisDay 1970: With no mains drainage, the Scottish village of Auchmithie was a place where most residents didn’t have their own toilet and relied on a drafty communal privy. A brand-new public convenience was built, with keys for the villagers to do their business in peace.

Following some rather horrible weather the garden seems to be doing very nicely! Lovely to have some colourful shrubs to look at!
Happy St Piran’s day and my apologies for my ancestors who worked as coastguard revenue and might have disrupted your celebrations!
This date a few years ago my dear friend left this world - she was an amazing person and we had so many laughs together - also as a retired teacher she taught me lots of things including basic braille which I still try and keep up with! Always in my thoughts.
Dear Peeps, I've had some lovely feedback recently about producing the talking magazine - Thank you, I really appreciate it! I started this in the worst of lockdown for my great friend as I saw she was forgotten by officials, they continued to forget her. #GoneButNotForgotten

Obstacles blocking the pavement are a nightmare for guide dog owners
🦮 Harry is a confident worker and expertly indicated that there was not enough room for both of us to pass so indicated that an off kerb obstacle was required

So many amazing tunes bringing so many memories - a big part of the soundtrack of my teenage years! RIP.
Farewell Rick Davies, founding member of Supertramp.
The singer, keyboardist and co-writer behind so many classics, including Breakfast in America, Dreamer and Bloody Well Right.
Remembering Rick here in his prime, singing Goodbye Stranger.

Today is the birthday of a great young man called Gerard who I had the privilege to be “radio Mother” for due his young age but huge enthusiasm! I’ll always remember the live bungee jump where he managed not to swear on air! Best wishes!

Look at these sunflowers, straight from my garden.
They rise, they shine, they smile with the sun.
They teach me to stand tall,
To turn to the light,
To grow with love.
