Overall I am pretty impressed with @Etihad_Rail 🚆 The service is good, and once they up the frequency between Dubai & Abu Dhabi the benefits will grow exponentially 😎 The only bad point is the ride quality is not as good as I would expect from a new system! 🇦🇪 #NonstopEurotrip

FIRST EVER DOWNLOADABLE SINGLE IS 30 “Telling lies (Ooh, ah, visionary)” On 26th August 1996, DavidBowie.com made a special announcement... + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + In an unprecedented move, DAVID BOWIE and Virgin Records will be releasing his recently recorded song Telling Lies exclusively on the Internet through the official David Bowie web site, beginning Wednesday, September 11 at 10 PM (Eastern). + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + And so it was on that very day, the first downloadable single by a major artist was released following a CU-SeeMe event where Bowie and two imposters were asked questions by the audience. In the first four days of its Internet release, there were more than 46,000 downloads of the track, over 10,000 per day. “I often plunge myself into the deep end of a situation just to see what happens,” he said to fans on the night on his official web site. Bowie was joined at a secret New York City location by two imposters: guitarist Reeves Gabrels and Patrick Briggs, outrageous frontman for Psychotica, the Bowie-influenced group who were featured on the main stage of the 1996 Lollapalooza tour. It featured the three David Bowies, two in disguise (and both telling lies). The conference was simultaneously held in CompuServe's Convention Center and on the World Wide Web. Each disguised and silhouetted "BOWIE" answered questions from the fans and those users in the Convention Center voted for whom they believed to be the real BOWIE. Here's a sample question: “What are the contents of your wallet now?” DAVID #1: “Because I'm an Englishman, I don't have a wallet. I just have a room key.” DAVID #2: “American Express, platinum card, three condoms and two hundred dollars.” DAVID #3: “Passport, a driver's license and no money.” Another question: “What is the reason you chose to do these four ballroom shows?” (An inquiry about his recent sold-out East Coast weekend shows, which were scheduled for fun while recording Earthling in New York.) DAVID #1: “’Cause they're all within driving distance of New York so we can drive back and get into the studio.” DAVID #2: “Well, I've always liked ballrooms. I've always liked Fred Astaire. I figured this is one way to see those places I always wanted to see as a child.” DAVID #3: “Well, I quite like the intimacy of a small room as most artists do.” Even though the real Bowie (#1) told the truth in every answer, fans actually placed him last in their vote behind their first (Briggs #3) and second (Gabrels #2) choices. The first image here was taken in NYC by Ian Davies in October 1996, the other two images show Bowie three days after the launch, on September 14th, 1996, at the Roseland Ballroom in NYC by Ken Sharp. We have also pictured two of the later CD releases of Telling Lies. More of which, later. #VisionaryBowie #BowieTellingLies30

I missed the last train in Seoul once. Phone at 3%. Didn’t speak Korean. It was raining, freezing, and I had no idea where I was supposed to go. I tried calling an Uber but my card kept failing because of my bank fraud protection. Perfect timing. I was standing outside the station looking completely defeated when this older woman walked up to me and started speaking Korean. I told her I didn’t understand. She pulled out her phone translator and typed:“You are lost?” I nodded. She asked where I was staying, looked at the address, then motioned for me to follow her. This woman walked me almost 15 minutes through side streets, holding her umbrella over both of us while I apologized every thirty seconds. When we got to my hotel, I tried offering her cash for helping me. She looked genuinely offended. Typed into the translator again:“If my son was lost somewhere, I hope someone helps him too.” Then she bowed and walked away in the rain before I could even process what happened. Some places still treat strangers like human beings first.

No, not entirely. Amanda Ungaro (ex of Paolo Zampolli, who introduced Melania to Trump) did fly on Epstein's plane at 17 via Brunel, socialized in the same modeling circles, and has posted threats to "expose everything" about Melania amid their custody fight and her ICE deportation (which Zampolli allegedly influenced). Melania's surprise denial statement followed those posts. Mainstream outlets like NDTV, Daily Beast, and India Today report the links and drama—but no verified photos/emails prove Melania's direct Epstein involvement or crimes. It's real controversy, heavy on speculation.

Audiences will forgive bad picture before they forgive bad sound. Decades of test screenings back it up. Shaky handheld footage reads as indie. Muffled dialogue reads as amateur. One feels intentional and the other feels like a mistake or flat out not caring. Your audience will notice the sound long before they analyze the frame. Get the shot AND get the sound.

Copy edit: I just watched Marco Bellochio’s The Traitor, which had been out for six years and no one knows or talks about despite the fact it’s likely the best gangster drama movie of this century. Complex and sprawling but also delightfully trashy and realistic but in a sort of classless way. Has about a dozen murders before you’re 20 minutes in and doesn’t let up from there. Artfully melodramatic, like Douglas Sirk channeling DePalma’s Scarface aesthetics while diving deep into the history of the Sicilian mafia. I love crime movies and I go easier on them than most genres because they’re usually, at least, watchable. But this is actually a masterpiece and it seems a huge cultural oversight for it not to have been a bigger deal.
