Solana's transaction count dropped by about two-thirds after Alpenglow. Nothing's broken.
Our CEO Robin Nordnes called it ahead of the switch, quoted in @CoinDesk and @CoinMarketCap:
"Most of what got counted before was validators voting, and that's off-chain now. The trading's all still there. For desks, faster finality is nice, but it was never the bottleneck. Being close to where the block is built still is."
In equities, the venue is a building in New Jersey. On Solana, the venue moves every few hundred milliseconds, to whichever validator is building the block. You can't rent a rack next to that. You have to be on it.
Circuit revisited: tokenized domains with @domaprotocol
@SDMikeCM joined us to talk about a market he calls a $360B industry that still trades through checks, escrow and NDAs, and why Doma thinks the fix is putting domains onchain.

Institutions aren't waiting for Solana to get faster. It already did. What's holding them back is the boring stuff: where their orders sit, and who's close to the block when it's built. Robin on the real blockers π
A solana slot is, as of right now, ~200ms. Here's what happens inside one, and why where you sit matters.
Nine public companies just objected to OKX and ICE tokenizing their stock.
@Cointelegraph covers the issuer pushback under the SECβs innovation exemption, including Broadcom, Verizon and UnitedHealth.
Our CEO @degenroot: βIssuers arenβt objecting to the blockchain. Theyβre objecting to not knowing what happens to their price once it trades there. On a public chain, the validator building the block sets the order. Until desks can measure their distance to that point, best execution is a promise, not a number.

18 votes β’ Final resultsEveryone on Solana is measuring how close they can get to the block. We went with zero. Blackline runs your strategy on the same hardware as the validator that builds it. Trade where the block is built.
Quick explainer before Wednesday:
Finality = the point a transaction can't be reversed.
Alpenglow's first half, Votor, changes how validators vote on blocks. Vote transactions also leave blocks, so headline TPS will drop with no drop in real activity.
