Direct action and solidarity are how we win. 💪 @SEIULocal99 The boss can try, but we're never going to stop fighting for workers, students, and our public schools. We're making that clear to the district and the city on Wednesday 3/15 at 4:30 PM. Together, we are powerful.

Simi Valley's past and present is and always will be connected to racism, bigotry and white supremacy as long as people lack the courage to confront this history, hold people accountable and make amends. #sundowntown
January 1993: Klan members planned a rally in Simi Valley to support cops who beat Rodney King. When anti-racist groups planned counter-protest, the KKK called it off though some still showed in less organized, public manner. 30 years later... #JusticeForTyre

30 Years later and the same racism, bigotry and misogyny still exist here in Simi Valley. The question now is, do WE have the courage to confront it and hold these people accountable? Warning: image contains graphic racial and sexual words.

Biden just approved Willow. He pledged to end drilling on federal lands. Millions of us collectively urged him not to approve Willow and took over the internet in doing so. And he did it anyways.

Shameful that $90 million of taxpayer dollars are being used to build Cop City, a massive police base that will destroy nearly 100 acres of forest next to Black and brown neighborhoods to test explosives, house firing ranges, and further militarize police against communities.

We know this is the US law enforcement system. We know our police system is NOT broken. We know it is working as it was intended because it is rooted in racism and white supremacy. The question now is what are we finally going to DO about it?!? We can all start by 1/2

2/2 Start by vowing to NOT vote, endorse, or support any candidate or elected official that takes law enforcement $$-At ALL levels, local, state, federal. Send a message loud and clear so that every grieving Black mother and child knows you truly believe #BlackLivesMatter

If you need insurance to drive a car you should definitely need insurance to own a gun. Good job San Jose!

2023 is officially the FOURTH calendar year that student debt payments have been paused. If they can be paused that long, they should be canceled.

Southwest can apologize by writing all of those checks to all of those stranded passengers.
As @SouthwestAir CEO Bob Jordan pretends to apologize—remember—SW got a $7B federal bailout, spent $5.6B of that on Stock Buybacks, gave their CEO a raise to $9.1M,& forced frontline workers to 16 hour shifts under threat of termination—while spending $0 updating their software😳

De Leon needs to think of the community he is supposed to serve and simply resign. L.A. doesn't need more politicians. They need public servants.

Christy Smith consistently voted w/ conservative Dem minority in the CA Assembly. She opposed, for example: - strengthening tenants' protections against rent gouging - restoring voting rights to formerly incarcerated people - expanding free health care to undocumented youth. 6/

Yes, this happened. Yes, it's still part of the many systems of white supremacy and misogyny that are still upheld in this country. No, I'm not going away.
Jeann Lugo, a cop who ran for Rhode Island Senate as a Republican, hit his black female Democratic opponent Jennifer Rourke in the face twice after she spoke at an abortion rally a few months ago. A judge has let Lugo off saying it was justified to 'maintain public order.'

On this day in 1830, North Carolina passed laws that criminalized teaching enslaved Black people to read and that made the repeated dissemination of anti-slavery pamphlets punishable by death. To overcome racial inequality, we must confront our history. calendar.eji.org/racial-inju…

I'm so very proud of the 15k Heroes for Hope run we did for #SRLA at Dockweiler Beach this morning. This run was to raise funds and awareness for Brain tumor research. I dedicated my run to Illeana who was lost to DIPG brain cancer at the age of 5.
