Just THREE individuals wrote about BBC local radio in response to the major pan-BBC consultation, yet @Ofcom tells me the exercise was compliant with its Consultation Principles. Deep breath. I've written again. (Click below) davidlloydradio.com/post/ofc…

So sorry to hear this news. @andycomfort is the epitome of what a @bbc presenter should be. As a local MP I have always found him to be challenging but fair. This is a real loss to @RadioHumberside and the listeners.
So begins my last week as a radio presenter. It all began in 1995 when I started standing in on some programmes and I’ve presented a daily radio show for over 25 years. This Friday is my last. Here’s a photo of how it began & I’ll try to dig out some more photos this week.

Another example of the low-brow clickbait journalism that the BBC is funding by decimating actual local content provided by local radio. None of the Wilko stores in the list is in Lincolnshire (I checked twice). @NUJBBCRegions

Actual local journalism (on digital or radio) means telling the audience how their store is affected. Will it be saved? Sadly, few Radio Lincolnshire listeners on Facebook will be aware that this drivel is produced by a central team miles away from the county.

If you search BBC Sounds for your local station, the live feed doesn't exist. But Lincolnshire's results page does feature a 2010 general election debate in its top rail. How will firing most of local radio will fix this? @NickyHorne @TheCarlWheatley

30 years ago I rocked up in the newsroom at @RadioHumberside where @bbcburnsy was the first person I met (he was paying me!). He's the definition of BBC local radio and public service b'casting. Makes no sense that today is his last show.

There's a reason @DavidLloydRADIO is one of the most successful radio people in the UK. A thoughtful, detailed article that unravels any logic behind the BBC local radio restructuring.
