ALT Graphic promoting the Dementia Researcher podcast episode titled 'Stronger Together: Peer Support & Community.' At the top, the title is written in bold black text. Below, it reads 'Hosted by Dr Megan Readman' in black, followed by 'Guests: Dr Oz Ismail, Adam Smith, Josh Wright' in black text as well. The background shows a group of people standing with their arms around each other, symbolising support and unity. At the bottom, there are circular photos of each guest: Dr Megan Readman, Dr Oz Ismail, Adam Smith, and Josh Wright. The Dementia Researcher logo is in the top right corner.

ALT People with dementia often experience communication difficulties, which can hinder their involvement in Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) work. PPIE involves collaborating with researchers to design and conduct research rather than just participating in it. Project Goal: To create a video on empowering people with dementia to have their say in PPIE meetings. Participant Requirements: The project seeks six people with dementia and six carers with PPIE experience. There is an emphasis on including people from underrepresented groups in research, including individuals from minority ethnic backgrounds, those experiencing financial hardship, and LGBTQ+ people. Commitment and Compensation: Participants will attend three two-hour workshops between January and September 2025, either online or in person. In these sessions, ideas on how to support inclusive communication in PPIE will be gathered, and a prof designer will help create the final video - [email protected]
